    CAS Rugby 2014

I think you’re right and it’s not a good look. As has been mentioned before teams run in cycles. My issue is it detracts from what was a pretty good first up performance for Oakhill with solid wins from firsts to thirds. It’s also bloody irritating, I had to go up the other end of the park to...

    CAS Rugby 2014

That dominant team you mentioned lost to Oakhill two seasons ago. Oakhill also had an Australian schoolboy Oakhill didn’t have three players in their third year of 1st xv, more of a disadvantage wouldn’t you think? Oakhill also had a mixture of players that have never played together...

    CAS Rugby 2014

Why do you think Oakhill's position was any different to Barkers? It was their first game too you know and they won the top three grades. I have another theory. Barker were simply outclassed by Oakhill and they could mix the teams until the cows come home but the result would be the same, No...

Yes Insight, I have already corrected that error. The point still stands

Correction: Oakhill lost to Barker last year.

    CAS Rugby 2014

'The ISA competition seems to be Augies, then daylight.' Hugh Jarse Oakhill did win all five games against CAS teams last year and beat Barker (1sts to 3rds) on the weekend. If its Augies and daylight where does that put the CAS?

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

That would be the same Norths 15's from last year that made up the bulk of the bar bars zone side, the team that could only manage third in champs and zone but still had 9 players plus coach in the Sydney team. Let's hope this years coaches/selectors don't involve the partisan empire builders...

I thought the Eastwood and Western zone backline out-performed the Norths and Bah Bah's backline with the pick of WZ being 9,10,11 and 15 (9 played NSW 16's). That so few were selected (forwards and backs) despite 2nd in champs and first in zone is a joke.

Yes, and they were rewarded with the bulk of selections into the Bah Bah’s. What’s harder to justify is the 9 selected into the Sydney team from the regional’s despite being beaten by both Northern and western zones who could only manage 9 selections combined. Understand your point was...

Don’t know about ACT but when you look at how many North’s players were selected in the Sydney and NSW teams; despite coming third in state champs and the barbarians (mostly Norths) winning the one game against Southern in the regional’s, it sounds about right.

Thanks, Wennerbom from Joey's. With the MWZ IC that's three IC's selected which is a little unusual, but then I think the selections in general are unusual.

OK, didn't see anything special on the wings or FB from Norths, IMO MNZ wing and MWZ wing and FB were best performers in those possies.

Thanks, that would make at least 4 centres and a couple of fb's but no wingers from my understanding.

Of the 5 Norths backs selected one was the HB. Does anyone know the positions of the remaining 4.

I tend to agree and having watched Norths and barbars closely through the reps the form of the team and individuals just wasn't there to justify their 9 selections. Particularly in the backs where 5 were selected.

State champs or Zone there is nothing to suggest form had anything to do with it State champs: 1.Gordon, 2. Eastwood 3. Norths Zone: 1. MWZ - Mostly Eastwood, 2. MNZ – Mostly Gordon, 3. Barbars – Mostly Norths Sydney reps: Norths 9, Eastwood and Gordon 3 each

Manly were near bottom of the 17 teams at state champs

Stepped it up? They had a single win against last placed MSZ and deserved their third place finish.

I'm surprised it was 5 Norths backs as I wasn't particularly impressed with them. I thought the Fb from Parramatta and winger from Eastwood also performed well. Sour grapes from a MWZ perspective
