    The Israel Folau saga

Well there you go. I must lead a sheltered life.

Well, that’s the first time I’ve ever seen that and I’ve never heard any discussion of it. Certainly neither RA or the NSWRU have never said anything about it. Makes me suspicious of it’s origin, particularly when it wasn’t even part of the Code of Conduct process. I’d have thought that RA...

I don’t think he was in any Wallabies or Waratahs gear at all. In fact I don’t think his picture was in the post at all. I’m sure that RA and the NSWRU would have rightly had plenty to say about it if he did. From what I’ve seen the post was a meme accompanied by a short message to repent.

Kafer has little record of success at anything. Seems to have had many consultant roles though

As I’ve said all along he doesn’t have the training or education to understand what these passages mean.

    The Israel Folau saga

I don’t think either side is going to emerge from this with their reputation intact. I said in my first post on this thread that there will be no winners and that stands. The post in question was unwise and was a paraphrased quotation of an isolated passage from the Bible. While I think that...

Although the Bible doesn’t say that hell awaits anyone on the list posted by Folau. Even the list itself is different depending on which translation is used. However, none of the translations use the word hell or similar.

I think that if nothing else this case might decide to what extent employers are entitled to regulate the behaviour of their employees away from the workplace where the employee hasn’t indicated that they are either representing or speaking for their employer.

Although I’m not so sure that Fair Work Commissioners or Federal Court judges will be swayed by media leaks or PR spin.

At the risk of taking us in a giant circle, I’d just point out that the comment was made before he signed his most recent contact. The context being that he would have gone somewhere else or walked away as he put it should Raelene have thought that his views could be a problem. History records...

I can’t see how it would be in Folau’s interest to leak anything that we read in the paper last week. But neither of us know so it’s best to agree or disagree

    The Israel Folau saga

I think it’s clear that the gloves are off. But let’s not pretend that RA are lilywhite in this matter. Apart from the procession of coaches and players who were wheeled out to make comments before the code of conduct hearing, last week we had one of RA’s pet journalists have enough...

I presume by what’s been said that he’s complaining that a confidential letter he sent them was leaked to the press. I guess he expected confidential correspondence to be kept in confidence. If so he’s learnt a lesson.

    Contract extension on the way.

    The Israel Folau saga

RA/ARU have been leaking all manner of stories to favoured journalists for some time. Should RA lose the unlawful termination part of the action then the public nature of some of the initial process would most likely count against them in terms of the damages part of the action.

I’ve never used the term social standards ever. You clearly have me confused with some one else

I thought that discussion regarding Qantas and it’s unfortunate CEO were strictly verboten. I’d love to tee off on this but I’ll refrain.

    The Israel Folau saga

Well that’s your view. You may end up being correct but I think you should consider the possibility that courts don’t necessarily apply simplistic and absolute judgements to highly complex cases. Before it gets to any of that FWA would need to make a determination that RA acted unlawfully in...

    The Israel Folau saga

That would be for the court to decide. But the way that the law works is that if a party has been found to have acted unlawfully then they are liable for what follows. RA could certainly put a case to mitigate any damages but again there’s no certainty in any of these things
