    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Bit weird to be having a pop at Rebels fans at this time

The one and only Wallaby Coach thread

He's always been a pretty pragmatic sort of coach so I think he should be fine He did well with Ireland, but it was his work with NZ that really gives me hope. He was so good he managed to cancel out the ineptitude of Ian Foster

    Super Rugby General Chat

That's because of the entirety of Super Rugby more than any individual teams They have been telling us for years that Super Rugby isn't really important, resting players and essentially using it as a feeder comp for International Rugby. Until it is promoted as meaning something big, it will...

I wonder if Brett Clark has ok'd this yet

Maybe they should focus on fan investment and then they wouldn't need every game to be the best ever. They need to get people to care about these teams and this comp, and then bad games can happen and it's not the end of the world. I just sat through an NFL game that ended 3-0, but millions...

Which is great, I just wish he’d stick to that and stop trying to be a pundit in between stories

Why not? You seem to just come out of the woodwork to have a personal pop at me all the time

A 4 year contract for over $500,000 a year is a fair contract for a 22 year old with 11 test caps “Emotionally oppressive month” - What was that you were saying about Hyperbole earlier? If it was that terrible to spend 6 weeks in the south of France playing international Rugby for your nation...

Again, how did they not value him? He was offered a fair contact and turned it down

On RA how? Hard decision? This was the easiest decision he’s ever made. Rugby was clearly just a stepping stone for him It was such a hard decision for him that it took a whole 3 weeks and he’s signing a deal for 2025 while we are still in 2023

“You’re comparing a Lexus to a Ferrari mate” I’m of the belief that Toole can be a Ferrari, you can’t teach what he has. The fact he actually wants to be a Wallaby is an added bonus

Maybe, it all just feels quite machiavellian though

Did he just become a good sales rep by himself, or did the company spend years investing, coaching and developing him?
