RWC 2011 SF2: Australia vs. New Zealand

All of a sudden the Wallaby back line looks decidedly average. Hope Cooper has been practicing his cut out passes.

RWC 2011 SF2: Australia vs. New Zealand

I echo the thoughts of many on here re: Sharpe and Higgers, especially Sharpe. What a boon it would have been for both him and his team mates for him to run on for his 100th test. However, the most concerning aspect of the team for me is the potential centre-pairing. We will have no penetration...

    Has Burger been cited?

Don't think I disagree with any of that. However, the "moral outrage" expressed by many at the Wallabies win is extremely disappointing from my perspective and I feel that a thread such as this restores some balance to the post-match fallout.

    Has Burger been cited?

My point is that one side has whinged incessantly about the ref, when it is clear that several contentious and highly influential decisions (or omissions in this instance) went against the Wobs. If Australia had lost the match, I'm sure we too would have bemoaned Bryce's handling of the game...

    Has Burger been cited?

From what I've seen, heaps of Saffas have been whining about the ref, including captain gracious John Smit. Maybe one could run the argument that if Bryce Lawrence wasn't so rubbish then Burger would have been sent off and we would have belted a 14-man Boks side. Alas, the ignorant will...

    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

Only if Beale is injured and even then there are better options, eg JOC (James O'Connor)

G&GR Wallaby Player of the Year v Boks (RWC QF)

You're clearly entitled to your own opinion...but seriously?

G&GR Wallaby Player of the Year v Boks (RWC QF)

    Pocock JOC (James O'Connor) McCabe

    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

Thought he was average, but he did make up for his errant pass with a try saving tackle for the ages.

    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

McCabe was immense, albeit he fell off a couple tackles. Heart of a lion that guy, an absolute warrior. Nevertheless, given Cooper's proneness to choking under pressure, I think we need to stick Barnes at 12 to relieve some of that pressure.

    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

Good attitude from the Wobs, but poor play generally. Cooper has been terrible. If possession evens itself out, I think the Wobs will run away with this, particularly the Boks tire as expected. Still, Boks look more secure with the ball.

    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

Wallabies have tightened a lot in the betting, any idea why?

    RWC QF2: England v France (W Pool B v RU Pool A)

Do the upload the press conferences online? Now that would be a joy to watch.

Who do people actually want to win?

Two great results today! Carn the Wallabies!

    I stand corrected :)

    RWC QF2: England v France (W Pool B v RU Pool A)

They made the final in 1987, so they've made the semi at every world cup.

    RWC 2011 QF1: Ireland v Wales (W Pool C v RU Pool D)

Ireland reverting to type, with O'Gara kicking for corners and slowing the game down with injury time outs.

Who do people actually want to win?

Not a lot of love for Ireland it would appear. Don't feel too sympathetic myself to be honest. I was aghast when I saw the ball in play stats for the Wobs - Ireland match: 29 minutes! I find it hard to get excited by teams that play a spoiling game. Moreover, there's little duller in my view...

Who do people actually want to win?

There's been a lot of discussion this week about who we think will win each QF, but I thought it would be an interesting experiment to see who forumers actually want to win. C learly most on here will wants the Wobs, and probably the French, to win, but I suspect views will be divided on the...

2011 RWC - Pool C - Australia, Ireland, Italy, USA, Russia

If the unlikely occurs and we're all on 15 points, I think Australia still goes through on the basis of points difference.
