    Crusaders v Reds Prelim 1

Haven't been impressed by Horwill's performance.
  2. Garryowen

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

I thought Timani's greatest asset was his impact on the scrum.
  3. Garryowen

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

Except they've kicked long all series.
  4. Garryowen

    long term coach?

Haven't the records deteriorated since we started playing NZ and SA more frequently?
  5. Garryowen

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

The thought of Hooper going back to centre frightens me... Beale to 10 / JOC (James O'Connor) to 13 if AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) goes down?
  6. Garryowen

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

That was the point I was making.
  7. Garryowen

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

I'd believe it was an accident if Horwill didn't have form doing the same thing this year. Still, the IRB appealing its own decision is farcical and smacks of political influence.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

I agree - as I said earlier, he seems to be a great team man and really backs his players. Look at the way he dealt with Beale after his slip and miss. But this sort of behaviour is unbecoming for any player, let alone the Walllaby captain. Will the message sink in only after he's been...

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Still can't believe he got off. How's this for recent form: http://planetrugby.com/story/0,,3551_8691049,00.html http://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/community/threads/horwills-stomp-and-claims-the-reds-werent-penalised-enough.12640/page-2

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Watched the Horwill incident again - no idea what he's doing, he clearly can't see through Hooper's back, but one doesn't ordinarily retain his balance by stamping his foot across his body and then lifting his foot back up immediately thereafter.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

I initially said Ant has no ball skills. I didn't pass judgment on his peers until you brought up that strawman argument. For what it's worth, I think he is worse than Horne and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) in this department. This is not a popularity contest, but I note that my comment received multiple likes. It...

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

So suggesting he has no ball skills is evidence I haven't watched him play? Pretty confident I'm not the only one who thought he stifled the Wobs backline whenever he's been selected. The McCabe / Fainga'a centre pairing is just about the worst combination I've seen the wallabies field in many...

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

I find it hard to get excited about Taps. I'm disappointed that there are no 10s joining the squad, ie Cooper and / or To'omua.
  14. Garryowen

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

I can't say it was deliberately aimed at the face, but that was the effect. Can't think of why else he would have done what he did? Did he confuse Jones' head for the ball?
  15. Garryowen

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

I'm not going to debate the point at length because it's not a realistic proposition. However, it's bullshit to say he's not ready when he played the same pack a couple weeks back and shone. But for injury, Timani would be the obvious player to come in if Horwill, as expected, has a long...
  16. Garryowen

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

Scrum was much stabler when Kepu was on. Re: Skelton, it's more than a little hopeful, but he did stand up to the same pack only a couple weeks ago. Kimlin would be a good realistic choice, but I'm not convinced he offers enough grunt in the scrum. I have the same reservations about Hugh...
  17. Garryowen

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Did Benny A stomp on Robbo's face?
  18. Garryowen

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

I sincerely hope not. Fainga'a has no pace or ball skills - cant believe anyone would seriously pick him.
  19. Garryowen

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

    1. Robinson 2. Moore 3. Kepu (Alexander is shit in the scrum) 4. Douglas 5. Skelton (assume Horwill is out - Skelton was immense against same pack) 6. Mowen 7. Hooper 8. Palu 9. Genia (c) 10. Cooper 11. O'Connor (else Ioane if Lilo is out) 12. Lilo (assumed fit, else JOC (James O'Connor)) 13. Kuridrani (assume...

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

There were both sides of Horwill's captaincy on display last night. His consoling of Beale at the end of the match was the mark of a great leader. However, that stomp looks like a moment of madness, especially given his comments about discipline earlier in the week. Worse still is that it...
