I think GPS will be very unlucky not to win a premiership (or multiple haha) in the next few years, including 2014. Not trying to be too one eyed but all the 'home grown' players are currently hitting their prime with the likes of Ellis, Zangari, Gorman, Ferguson and McWhirter being around...

    QLD Colts 2014

Anyone know how Brothers Prem Colts are looking this year? I think they lots of blokes move up to grades in 2014 so will be interesting to see if they are as dominant, but they do have the coaching structures in place.

Mate I've heard about 50-60 currently on the books. Obviously injuries (game and grog related) become an issue throughout the season so I have a feeling if numbers stay there the colts 2 side might just scrape in players wise for a couple games.

Further to the depth in colts, just heard that all the coaches from prem colts to colts 2 are level 2 coaches involved in various programs around Brisbane e.g junior gold cup, queensland 7s programs etc. Only one out of the 6 coaches doesn't hold that qualification and hes just a well known...

King - 1145am kickoff at UQ, back fields I believe. The earlier games should be good too, even as far back as colts 2 GPS should have good teams due to the player depth filtering back. Maybe not so much in this week with all the 'stars' sitting out.

Hard to say for GPS at the moment, lots of new guys with Prems. Most likely if McWhirter is fit (I believe he has a minor injury at the moment) he will get first crack again but 10 is a position which is very open. I even heard Pat Smith may play again this season but that will probably depend...

    Waratahs vs Reds - R3 2014

I have a feeling the breakdown will be more tightly policed than people are assuming. Yes Glen Jackson's control of it has left something to be desired in the past, but after watching a couple of replays from the round, as a whole I think each game the breakdowns have been an area which needs...

If thats true, I wonder if Milne will regret his decision to leave GPS for a starting 10 spot at Brothers...

Breakdown, sorry not very good with schools etc so couldn't tell you where boys have come from. GPS will be playing with a fairly 2nd string Prem Colts team this weekend vs Uni. Tuttle, Magnay, Aitsi and Rayment on the sidelines or trialling with Prem Grade. Can confirm Rodwell is in the...

Thanks for that little GPS pump up TT, rather enjoyed it! It has been a good little run lately with 4 premierships in 2012 also and quite a few the year before I believe. Hopefully get the big one this year! I agree it is very hard to put a 'best' label on a club for any number of reasons...

Heard Aitsi was down but that was a while ago, not sure if he has left or may be injured but from my understanding hasn't been selected in any teams for trials this weekend.

Agreed Cat. Before a couple of years ago the Albany Creek and Ashgrove GPS clubs didn't share much in common (at least to my knowledge) expect a few merged juniors teams. Really happy we've decided to head out there for trial games as the fields are always in good nick and the hospitality is...

Diablo you missed probably their most dominant forward in Rodwell, although, he may end up playing a few games in Premier Grade. Jordy Tratchenko will probably start the season at 15 also.

Ah fair enough, regardless, I hope Norths have good numbers for all the teams they do enter. QRU might have made several errors like that as I notice they had posted all the match fixtures for every grade (Prems through to Subbies) on their website over the weekend, only for them to now have...

Player numbers must be alright though throughout the club GB? I believe its the first time Norths will be fielding a 'Brisbane 3rd Grade' (last years 4th grade) side in a few years? Or at least you've nominated to have one.

Whos playing who in trials this weekend? GPS v Uni out at Albany Creek (with all Colts being played at UQ). Should be a good hit out. Expecting a lot of new/young faces to get a run in this one.

    Waratahs vs Reds - R3 2014

Im surprised no one is suggesting Beale start at 10 over Foley. Am I the only person who thinks Foley had a very average game vs the Force? A very mixed bag IMO, a couple of times dropped ball because he was thinking too far a head and then other times didn't think fast enough and got caught...

Not to say Brothers forwards have been average the last couple of years but they definitely haven't been as noticeable since the likes of the Shaw bros, Ben McCormack etc moved on. I think Matho will be able to change that and unearth some real gems down there are Crosby and make that pack a...

How does everyone reckon the new scrum engagement will affect gameplay this season? The reason I ask is because when you think about it, even the professional teams have struggled a bit and they're training nearly everyday. Asking a bunch of blokes who only train for about 3-4hrs a week to...

I think this was the case a few years ago TT but I believe in 2012 Brothers played one of their Premier Colts props in a reserve grade semi-final which in turn opened up a can of worms. I remember because the following week in the 2nd grade grand final GPS had 3 premier colts blokes play and...
