I think Marco has provided the GPS pack with an older aggressive type presence that they were missing for a few years. They always had the guys like Ferguson and Donaldson who were experienced club toilers but the rest of the forwards are fairly young (21-25yrs old). Marco has provided a good...

To be honest TT I don't know who Tom Christie @9 is either?! Haha good clubman I am. The young gun colts halfback you speak of is most likely James 'Bobby' Tuttle who is playing 10 for Prem Colts at the moment, I think he was an Aussie Schoolboy player in 2013. Fairly handy player but i'd be...

TT - I think you'll find Herbert has been pushed out due to Johnson and Kerevi coming back and therefore should be starting in Premier Reserve. Strange selection of Zangari on the wing. Im fairly sure Sam Johnson is the first choice goal kicker so it wouldn't be for that. Also does anyone...

Yes Cat, that Norths 2nd grade is essentially the same team which won the 2012 4th Grade Premiership at GPS, had a few issues at Yoku lately so decided to head over to Norths. Can't see them losing many games this year.

    Reds 2014

Kurindrani was last seen in a moon boot a week ago so I don't think he'll be getting a run any time soon. Pretty sure Kerevi played some minutes off the bench for GPS on the weekend, if he gets through a full game for the club and the Reds lose to the Blues this w/e I wouldn't be surprised if...

Did I ever say Mathewson was playing badly? I think he's been playing great but that doesn't change the fact I don't believe he is a long term option for the Force. And yes compared to Frisby he is 'aging' as Frisby turns 21 this year.

    Reds 2014

Frisby getting a start this weekend and possibly in the coming weeks if the injury is bad can be beneficial to the Reds for a couple of reasons 1 - Genia hasn't played at his peak now for over 12 months in my opinion and it is hard for a club team to drop 'the best halfback in the world'...

My understanding is because they are trying to make a difference between 'Premier' teams and the normal club comp. Having Prem Grade, Reserve and Colts as the top tier who can move freely between the three teams, as Prem colts players can now also play Prem Reserve. Then 'restarting' the...

A hard one to answer most definitely. At most clubs there are usually one or two more teams lower than 3rd grade (assuming youre talking about the old third grade, now known as Brisbane 2nd Grade) so its usually a team with competition for spots. The level of play and player quality will vary...

Thats the thing Filth, where the tents and Glue Factory are located there are several pop-up members and players bars, hence the most heckle is thrown from that side of the field!

Haha we'll see TT! Agreed no credits given for prior year performances but I reckon the players that have been added to the Gallopers this year make them even better in 2014. For example I mentioned in the colts thread Campbell Magnay played his first game on the weekend in Prem Colts and James...

Yeh agreed Tigers Tale - lots of work to be done. Apparently Shane Arnold gave the boys a pretty big revving at halftime to get them firing again. I think most of the players, coaches, supporters etc down at Yoku Rd know this group of players have been together for a while now and are probably...

    Reds 2014

I saw Kurindrani in a moon boot down at GPS on the weekend so obviously hes a fair way off but Kerevi was running water for the Gallopers. Maybe hes close to returning? Would be worth slotting him straight into 13 in the coming weeks. Could give the Reds a good ball runner out wide but depends...

    QLD Colts 2014

Prem Colts GPS 52 def Wests 5 A one sided game, Campbell Magnay also played half a game off the bench and by all reports had a very good game.

GPS had a clean sweep against Wests down at Yoku on the weekend. The Premier Grade Gallopers looked pretty average for most of the game but ended up taking the game 40-34. Wests right winger caused havoc and was best player in the ground in my opinion.

    QLD Colts 2014

Heavens game - in no way would I take anything way from Logan. Im sure the outcome of the game would have been the same. Just hope GPS can sort something out for the boys.
  17. TheBigDog

    QLD Colts 2014

Wasn't at the game so can't give first hand comment but apparently they had a few replacements, sounds like they weren't short handed. Not trying to have a go at Logan either, the rules are the rules. I just hope it doesn't become a weekly thing as I feel for the boys who've committed their...

    QLD Colts 2014

Wouldn't be surprised if clubs have had a little chat about GPS colts numbers. Apparently Colts 2 against Logan on the weekend were only allowed to play 8 reserves (total 23 players) despite having over a total of 13 players on the bench which is a bit of a shame. Those are the competition rules...

    QLD Colts 2014

GPS have struggled a fair bit during the trial period. Even without the likes of Sikameti, Tuttle, Magnay and Aitsi there are still plenty of quality players in the side but they havent been able to string together a consistent performance. The lack of forwards down at the club seems to be a...

Souths depth runs right through their grades though im pretty sure. Not saying the lower grades necessarily contribute as much to Prems form but i'm fairly sure they made the top 4 right from Reserves down to 5th grade last year? The last few years GPS Prems have made finals they've also won...
