Read the fine print qualifier, a weasel politician/lawyer would be proud of.

I certainly didn't - but the fact stands that alcohol is not conducive to high performance. Also note that this would be far less of an issue if the team (including their Super sides) were performing at an acceptable level. The fact is they are not. I posted a few weeks back after a Tahs game...

Right, Alcohol is not a hindrance to high performance and recovery. These are highly paid professionals. If one wants to be the best sacrifices have to be made, and that might just mean not drinking piss or snorting coke and lets face some serious facts, despite their inflated pay packets...

Leading the Australian Conference. Being the turd that floats in the effluent. Even in the worst performing conference, with teams like the Rebels and the Tahs who have shipped a record number of points this year their PD is what? +10 or so, and making the finals every year when one is...

I am told that too many Negroni can effect hearing....and sight....and possibly vertical stability.

Larkham has already been anointed. Its a done deal.

As posted on the front page in response to a great post from Who. The lack of exit strategy is just ridiculous. It is well known I do not rate Larkham as a coach and it is for these reasons. Despite having apprenticed under White he failed to take on the fundamentals taught to every team from...

That's where the debate gets a bit murky. A lot of people want to attribute blame to individuals. I understand that, it is easier to be angry at a person. For me I see people like Hawker, Pulver and a succession of board members who we could all attack as self serving, incompetent etc etc, I...

Game of Thrones in 2.5 weeks.:) Its why I am hanging on, and the other international tests. The Ireland V USA test last week was very entertaining, and watching the Kiwi Super sides play each other.

I have no faith in the entire set up and anybody who has read my posts for years will know that is the position I took a long time before the current fiasco brought the toxic systems into the semi-open. That said unless this crisis is used to enable meaningful reform of the systems of...

^^^^ and apart from one off special events such as the Lions we have had a downward trend for a long time with brief up-kicks for Tahs and Reds success.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

No I thought I might try one of those Intern Jobs. :) I'm trying to give up the dumpster diving.

2017 TV ratings and crowd figures

A highly entertaining game as well. USA Rugby is developing well, their improvement in the set piece and other technical aspects is very noticeable. They were let down on more than a few occasions by execution in closing out some very good attack.

    The Wallabies Thread

Whilst I said "fetching" hand in the ruck play is somewhat overrated making a mess of the breakdown for the opposition, making them commit more players to the cleanout is essential, while at the same time minimising ones own contribution to the breakdown in numbers. That is where Pocock is...

    The Wallabies Thread

Exactly, I have been saying for years that the "hands in the ruck" turn over style is fine if somebody is isolated and the "fetcher" whoever is tasked to do that is there super fast, but with the interpretation of the Law being the tackler must release the tackled player and have daylight that...

    Waratahs 2018

I am with Cyclo, the defence of the Tahs this year has been the worst they have ever produced IIRC. Is there a fundamental incompatibility between Grey's defensive patterns and the players? Or the structure Gibson is running for attack so the transition is particularly bad? I don't know, but I...

    The Wallabies Thread

Fiji scrum has been of Tier 1 levels for a few years now with their front row playing in Euroland. Remember this from 2015 - shows the technique and strength very well. and in case you think the 2015 Wallabies RWC scrum was a poor guide here is them against England laying the platform. Skip...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Hello Matthew, not having played at professional level, my unqualified opinion is that one team's poor performance cannot be used to excuse another.
