    SR2023 R3 - Rebels vs Waratahs Friday 10 March @ 7.35pm

So it’s retro round have the rebels got a retro kit?

The Roosters have no fans so of course they get more from gaming.

Super Rugby Rd 2: Rebels v Hurricanes

I just want to see the rebels play entertaining rugby and bring the fans back. It’s what the sport needs and it’s what the comp needs. Melbourne has been poor on field since its inception but a strong team in Melbourne benefits Aus and NZ. If we play like that I have confidence people will...

Yet that doesn’t tell the full story. They built their wealth off the back of pokies and then invested the sale profits back into the club. Also sports betting is where the real money is. The AFL and NRL are doing 10 cents per get placed. With gambling ads being a driving force behind growing...

Not really the cut through of the AFL as opposed to the NRL is why the AFL gets bigger crowds and a bigger TV deal

    Australian Rugby / RA

The AFL and NRL are heavily dependent on gaming. It’s ultimately a reason why Rugby is so far behind. 10 cents per bet and 8m a year to the AFL and NRL. Look how many markets are offered on both those games. Nothing in the game happens that you can’t bet on.

If you ask most people in Melbourne they can name, Cam Munster and Ryan Papenhuzen. League doesn’t have the cut through people in Sydney think it has

It was one of the best games I have been to live. Both sides attacked and took their chances but the fatigue let the other sides counter punch

But league players exist in small markets. Rugby is rapidly growing after a successful World Cup in France and the potential for a successful World Cup in the US this is a space league will not be able to compete in

And as rugby grows internationally those opportunities will increase. Where the NRL players will be getting endorsements from Hooters Penrith

Win a World Cup and you have international brands chasing you. Play well in the NRL and nobody outside of western Sydney cares.

The difference in the game was your canes were just smarter. The were confident they had points in them and were happy to take the three when they had an easy look. We always went for 7, it was dumb Rugby

You have far greater earning potential in union as it’s a global game

    Rebels 2023

We can beat the Tahs and Reds. We were poor against the Force sure but showed a hell of a lot more against the Canes than the reds did

True. As someone who has coached junior sport if my captain did that then he would no longer be my captain
  16. Rebel man

Super Rugby Rd 2: Rebels v Hurricanes

It is a clear violation of the rules. Just walk off, if you don’t come down on players trying to escalate a fight once they have been yellowed them you have lost control of the game. The blokes a grub and the actions reflect poorly on his character as a man
  17. Rebel man

Super Rugby Rd 2: Rebels v Hurricanes

If I was the Canes coach I would have stripped Ardie of the captaincy
  18. Rebel man

He fucked up and now has to face his punishment. “The heat of the moment” is a cop out. In life we all do things in the heat of the moment yet still have to face the consequences

Anyone but the hopeless biased Kiwi James Doleman could see that it should have been a red

The ARU butchered expansion. Obviously growing the game was hard when it was an amateur. But at the same time it was 1906 when the Australian National Football Council introduced a levies on the clubs and leagues in Aussie rule’s heartland to support the game in NSW, ACT and Queensland where...
