RWC viewing options outside AUS & UK...help for the expat community.

Hey mods.....this is my 4th RWC as an expat and it has taken 16 years for me to be able to "access" rugby matches with similar ease as to what I was used to before I left Aussie shores. I live in the US these days and although we do have access to a few free-to-air matches with DirectTV, all the...

    RWC: Australia v Fiji - 23 September 16:45, Millenium Stadium(24 September 1:45 AEST)

Was this the first time this year that we have seen To'omua 10 / Gits 12?....or did that pop up at some point in TRC?

    RWC: Australia v Fiji - 23 September 16:45, Millenium Stadium(24 September 1:45 AEST)

I wouldn't say it is mythical BH as QC (Quade Cooper) has shown he has the ability to deliver what is needed to win the big prize. Personally I think his recent form has not been as bad as some on the boards would like to make out. I never said that his current form was great nor would he be selected to start...

    RWC: Australia v Fiji - 23 September 16:45, Millenium Stadium(24 September 1:45 AEST)

Fair enough Lorenzo. To be quiet honest I didn't even consider Wales as potential contenders as I have rudely discounted their hopes in this RWC. I can't see them beating either England or Australia given their recent run of injuries.

    RWC: Australia v Fiji - 23 September 16:45, Millenium Stadium(24 September 1:45 AEST)

As much as many on hear will not like to hear it, we are not going to win this thing without QC (Quade Cooper) playing at 10 and playing well. The only chance we have is if he is out there and is playing at the top of his game for each of the knock-out matches. If QC (Quade Cooper) doesn't play well we don't win the thing...

    RWC: Australia v Fiji - 23 September 16:45, Millenium Stadium(24 September 1:45 AEST)

Thanks for the link Reg. Interesting to see the general lack of offloads by Aus....a bit bloody sad to be frank. That said, was getting the impression that they were just trying to keep the game plan fairly simple, direct and error free for the most part.

    RWC: Australia v Fiji - 23 September 16:45, Millenium Stadium(24 September 1:45 AEST)

No if Australia win all four matches without any bonus point then they end up with 16 points. If England beat Wales, Uruguay & Fiji with bonus point wins but lose to AUS but pick up 2 bonus points in the loss (1 for loss less than seven point and another for scoring 4 tries then they will end...

    RWC: Australia v Fiji - 23 September 16:45, Millenium Stadium(24 September 1:45 AEST)

I read (or heard) an interesting yet somewhat disturbing quote from TK recently. He said something to the effect of when he running with ball-in-hand and contact is made, his first though is to keep driving until he can no longer go forward. This may be all well in good some of the time but for...

    RWC: Australia v Fiji - 23 September 16:45, Millenium Stadium(24 September 1:45 AEST)

I mean no dispresct to Fiji but I am a little disappointed that after 80 minutes of rugby our backline was not able to score a single try against a tier 2 nation. Aside from Folau, there was zero penetration and even he was fairly quiet.

    RWC: Australia v Fiji - 23 September 16:45, Millenium Stadium(24 September 1:45 AEST)

Share your concerns re Moore Reg. Did you notice how low his lineout throws were going? The jumper was catching most of them at shoulder level or a little lower allowing for some easy disruptions. I don't like the way he hits the deck right at contact either.

    RWC: Australia v Fiji - 23 September 16:45, Millenium Stadium(24 September 1:45 AEST)

Was I the only one who was not impressed by Douglas this match? For someone as big as he is, he sure as heck has very little "impact" at the collision. He seems to crumple upon contact in a very John-Eales-ish kinda way. Eales had an excuse in being built like a clothes lines but this is not the...

    RWC: Australia v Fiji - 23 September 16:45, Millenium Stadium(24 September 1:45 AEST)

In all likelihood the bonus point won't come into play except in a couple of scenarios The first is most unlikely but not impossible if we win all our matches without picking up any bonus points we finish with 16 points. If England pick up 3 bonus point wins, and a 2 point loss to Australia...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

What I find interesting that since Larkham came out in the press to state that we can expect to see two different starting 15's for the early rounds of the RWC, there has been a general reference by the pundits that we will see an A-team and a B-Team. Given that we basically saw what would...

Bledisloe #2 - AUS v NZL, Eden Park, Auckland, August 15th

.....Asked today how he thought the crowd would react to Cooper, McCaw said: "I don't know. I really don't. He's the fly-half of their team and we want to make it as tough a night for him as possible. That's what I'm worried about and if the crowd help out with that, I don't know, that would be...

Bledisloe #2 - AUS v NZL, Eden Park, Auckland, August 15th

I have seen a couple of articles today discussing the game where McCaw has suggested that it would be helpful if the crowd stuck it to Quade. I am not quite sure if they need any encouragement but I did find that a little surprising considering he had made a point of asking the Kiwi crowd to...

Bledisloe #2 - AUS v NZL, Eden Park, Auckland, August 15th

Wouldn't be surprised if both teams have a very similar game plan / attacking strategy. Definitely sounds like a classic test match with both teams looking for field position and trying to apply pressure across the park.

Bledisloe #2 - AUS v NZL, Eden Park, Auckland, August 15th

I think the AB's are going to come out swinging, keeping it very tight and doing there best to bash the Wallabies into submission early. If we can weather the storm, hold onto the ball when we have it and not make silly errors then we are in with a shot. If it is still tight with 20 minutes to...

BDA....if we win how about I pick you a lovely QC (Quade Cooper) avatar and if we lose you can find me a nice little King Carlos one?
