Why aren't the Wallabies playing (and winning) like the Crusaders?

So that might have something to do with the fact that Ewan McKenzie and Jim McKay met each other all those years ago when playing together for Randwick. Whilst the Reds might have looked unstructured, all of their attack was built on a base play. The coaches gave them this base play as the...

Wallabies V Boks Loftus Versfeld Pretoria 28/08/2010

Some positives in attack tonight - poor defence. Again, a lack of composure in a second half. But above all else, what is going on with these coaches? Whilst Sharpe had a sore ankle, he was still able to run and yet they take off our lineout caller and a player with loads of experience...

A Short History of the Wallaby Back Line: Part 3 - 1999 to 2001

Here's the latest instalment of the video series looking back at the Wallabies back line from 1979 to 2010. http://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/history-of-the-wallaby-back-line-part-3-1999-to-2001/ Thanks to RugbyReg and Mr Timms for some extra footage. Looks like it will now run to 5 or 6...

    2010 QLD Club Rugby

Sunny Coast up over Brothers 37-27 and deservedly so - Sunny Coast #12 was a real handful for Brothers. Uni over Sunnybank 42-17 after leading 35-3 until making mass substituitions. After today my money would be on Sunny Coast next week.

    Cooper - Larkham 2.0?

If you'd like to compare Cooper to Ella & Lynagh here's my latest video - A History of the Wallaby Back Line Part 1: 1979 to 1990 http://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/history-of-the-wallaby-back-line-part-1-1979-1990/

    Cooper - Larkham 2.0?

Yep, that's my Larkham video posted in that account before I had access to the G&GR account. I've been asking the same question of myself as DPK did in 2. above for the last week. I decided to look back at what the Wallaby backlines over the last 30 years looked like. I started at backlines...

    Drew Mitchell - not suspended

It was actually Wessels, not Kaplan, that reported Mitchell for the tackle and he's just been replaced for this weekend's game "The International Rugby Board has confirmed a change to the Match Official panel for Saturday’s Tri-Nations match between New Zealand and Australia. Cobus Wessels...

    Wallabies team for next week?

The problem with the blown try against SA was more Rocky than O'Connor. In the image below #1 is a prop but he was running at the same speed as Elsom so if O'Connor had gone inside there's a good chance he'd be in position to tackle him as he received the ball. #3 is Habana so going inside...

    LOCKED: Time to Sack Deans?

Okay, last night did it for me and I had a serious think today about whether it's time to sack Robbie Deans. My thoughts then turned to the Wallabies goals and it ended up as a Blog Post which may well add more fuel to this fire - see http://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/wallaby-goals/

    Wallabies v All Blacks Melbourne

I've just posted the stats on the Wallabies v Springboks from Saturday including a look at Genia's passing - http://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/statistics-wallabies-v-springboks-brisbane/ For comparison this post has the stats for Burgess and Genia in the first four games of 2010 and video of...

    Digby Goone!

O'Connor wasn't out of position - he was in position facing up to a 2 v 1 with Aplan and Habana coming at him. Then Horne made a mistake and went in when he should have stayed on Burger - this left O'Connor with no choice to go in on Burger to clean up Horne's mess. Had he not done so, Burger...

    Wallabies v Springboks, Brisbane.

I watched Higgers play yesterday in club rugby. Nucifora was there too, specifically to watch him. If I was a selector I'd spend my time watching elsewhere - did not offer much at all and was outplayed by one of his own teammates. The only hard stuff he came up with was a cheap, late shot on...
