    James Horwill cited for stamping

I many be reading thr wrong handbook, and this is all somewhat irrelevant now it the issue is over, though I thought that last time, but the merit based scheme means the officials aren't picked by the home union. Appeals are dealt with in Reg 18

    James Horwill cited for stamping

As I understand it the appointments for this series were made under the IRBs 'merit-based' system (17.5). And there is a fair contradictory detail about appeals in Reg 18 re the appeals committee.

Reading the handbook, I'm still struggling to see how the appeal was heard by a judicial officer rather than an appeals committee. But my attention span of 8 seconds may be the problem.

I was sure that it was obvious he was guilty. This is so hard to understand. Is the magic 8-ball on the blink?

I understand Deans and Horwill hand over to Beale and O'Connor for the night shift.

Yeah, he's a Brit who got Canadian citizenship. Not as transparently impartial as has been made out. An England-born British citizen, Kingston University in London and the Bar in England.

What makes tonights decision more correct than the other one? Is there some substantive difference to the process that makes it more erudite? Is Mew more able to interpret evidence over the videoconference link than live, where the power of Horwill's animal magnetism is too potent? Is he more...

    Reds 2013

We're too busy whining about Horwill and Bieber over in the BIL threads. Big shout out to the Sharks! Now, where was I.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

Strangely enough, bits of that were clearly true arguable. Fascinating game. Warburton was immense and our pack looked ordinary at times at the breakdown, especially when they couldn't get to/dislodge him in time. The best things JOC (James O'Connor) did (apart from that pretty sweet ball to AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) for his try)...

Wallabies: Latest Injuries and selection for Test 3

Thats a lot of caps. But does he know what time the Hungry Jacks breakfast menu turns over? We should bring back Sharpie when Horwill is rubbed out. More caps, and he certainly plays a position we need someone with caps.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

O'Connor improved through the game, I see. History is being retold by the victors :)

Until the first time the IRB used it to retry a player found innocent in a 4 hour hearing by their own proceeding and judicial officer. The fact that its the australian captain and it was announced at the last second before the 2nd Lions test might have something to do with the angst. At...

Wallabies: Latest Injuries and selection for Test 2

Retrying a player found not guilty is pretty dodgy. Have they given a specific reason for repeating the judicial process? No. Is there new evidence? No. Is there a higher court or authority? No. So what makes the next decision more correct than this one? The explanation of the original...

Wallabies: Latest Injuries and selection for Test 2

If Horwill is suspended in the second hearing, can he/the ARU appeal (in the 72 hour window) and go best of three? AFter two hearings, at 1-1, logically his innocence should be presumed and he should be abe to play until - the decider, after- the actual deciding game. Oh. There is no logic...

Wallabies: Latest Injuries and selection for Test 2

Pretty toxic, won't happen when Jake White takes over. Winners don't eat HJs, esp at 4am.

    Digby WTF?

Apart from QC (Quade Cooper) or Robbie Deans. Faith there is unsupportable.

    Digby WTF?

Deans told him to go to court but Ioane put a massive left foot step on the taxi and played Fifa all afternoon with an unnamed Super player.

    Wow, Gatland is resourceful.

I thought it was unintentional, not deliberate, and while it may have been found reckless that was arguable the way play unfolded. Certainly has been fun listening to the vehemence from the soap boxes, though. Gatland is lobbing grenades. Pressure is on (Deans). Stampgate, the call for QC (Quade Cooper)...
