    Crusaders v Reds Prelim 1

I think it was when Whitelock was free and turned, looked at Schatz, stamped on him and continued on his way. Have to try and find a replay to be sure. Just one of those WTF moments that probably were meaningless in the cold light of day. Sometimes.

    Crusaders v Reds Prelim 1

Crusaders were somehow brutal and precise all at the same time. Massive hits, swarming in attack with short balls to runners at a great depth. Peyper gave them some latitude at the tackle/breakdown and they took every opportunity - tacklers lingering holding on, falling on the reds side...

Aus vs NZ - 1st Test Sydney 17Aug2013

Now that the kiwi saboteur is gone, true blue Quade can work his magic unfettered by his mealy-mouthed advice and toxic paddle-boarding.

    Ewen McKenzie: Wallaby Coach

Its official. Reading the judgements from the judicial officers, it is yellow.

Aus vs NZ - 1st Test Sydney 17Aug2013

Wallabies versus All Blacks Cooper playing: Played 6, Won 2 (33%) Not Playing: Played 7, Won 0 (0%) Wallabies seem to benefit from said motivation!

Wallabies - a changing of the guard

It wouldn't surprise me if Cooper actually defended at 10, if only for Link to show it can be done. (And to prove his point that he only defends at 15 for the Reds because it suits the team overall)

Wallabies - a changing of the guard

Quade can skip doing the charge-down kicks.

Yes, I'm sure he is disappointed in the way things have worked out.

    Cheerio Deans

I'd love to read a good autobiography from behind the scenes over the last 5 years. What was it really like in the wallaby camp? Did anyone understand him?

    Ewen McKenzie: Wallaby Coach

Mackenzie had certainly Linked his cart to the QC (Quade Cooper) horse in the selection chatter before the Lions series - to the point I thought it was the biggest reason not to pick him. Be interesting to see if he can make it work.

    long term coach?

Kiwi teams get easy points playing the highlanders. Conference system has really favoured them.

    long term coach?

Happy with either option - White is obviously well-qualified. But glad Link seems to have the gig.

    Cheerio Deans

You would have pulled the short straw to have Deans as your teacher. Oh, wait.

    James Horwill cited for stamping

Nice summaries, much appreciated. I first read 'appeal' and review and jumped to the erroneous conclusion that the second hearing was effectively a retrial. Whereas the hearing came down to an an argument from the Appellant - in the form of IRB Disciplinary Officer Susan Ahern (about the...

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

I would agree - he has been in good form in a losing side. Gill is unlucky, but he is young and still on an upward trajectory in terms of impact. Two runs in two tests and a little bit of legend for that lineout is a good haul. Didn't we run out backs recently? I seem to remember something...

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

He looks a very handsome man, and a very fair referee. Il a l'air d'un homme très beau, et un arbitre très juste.
