Wallabies v England in Melbourne, 18 June

An important factor favoring Slipper is that last year he was carrying injuries which affected his game. He has said recently that he felt he was playing much better this year after his fit out. I wonder if Sio would have overtaken him last year if he'd been 100%?

And one thing I hate more than a loss, is a big loss. (I've played in a few of those).

Can't agree with you there. With 3 tests to be played, I'd think Cheika would want to get Pickles on for game time experience should Phipps get an injury problem during the series. Also to see how he performs, remembering that Phipps in the lead up to the RWC fell apart somewhat. Admittedly he's...

Nope. Its because England are playing. They are the NH leaders at present, so the game gets the attention. If England were playing the AB's, then these refs would probably be strutting their stuff there.

IMHO, if both Houston & Browning offer similar qualities to N0 8, then I'd like to see Browning get the starter nod, simply because he is a younger player, and can offer Qld/Australia more into the future. BUT only if there's a hair's breadth between them.

Browning's game has improved significently in recent times, whereby he's taking ownership of the No 8 jersey. Schatz is probably a bit nervous re the future. Maybe its what he needs as a wake up call? And now there is Leroy, who at 114 kgs is a bigger machine again for the No 8 taking up the ball.

Maybe charge the leaving player's managers a transfer fee. Say 50% of their 10% they pick up from a French club. Then we could buy back our best players;)

For 2017, I would like to see a Pickles, QC (Quade Cooper) pairing with Karevi at O/C to feed off QC (Quade Cooper). But who would be the ideal I/C with the above combination?

    Reds v Sunwolves, Round 13, 21 May 2016

Did anyone watch the SW/Stormers game from last weekend? Was it that the SW played a good game, or that the Stormers were having a mid-year sabbatical.

If you mean how many perpetual members there are, the answer is I think it is in the 300's. But I can't guarantee that.

An organization such as The Reds, representing the face of Queensland Rugby in the professional era, needs to be transparent in all its dealings, to maintain the support of its players, staff, the fans, and the public in general. To walk away from a perpetual commitment made by Queensland Rugby...

Surely the Japanese RWC players would have learnt basic English, if only to understand the referee's instructions/explanations. That and the time in England, where I believe, they speak English. Now learning Strine, that might be something else.

So applying simple maths, one-third of the player are local born, or conversely, two-thirds are foreigners. I wonder how many born Queenslanders there are playing Super 18 elsewhere?

Happy (belated) new year all. 'Nothing which can't be overcome In a single off-season if they are injury free'. TOCC, my thinking is that if the S & C is on song, then there will be likely less game/training injuries occurring.

It might be to do with the Wallaby front row consistently playing together as a unit: Slipper, Moore, Holmes

Need to get the facts straight. A) BT is not coaching the Reds in any way - he is a coach in the Emerging Players Squad B) He's retired from playing - there is no requirement that he play in his contract So stick that up your pipe & smoke it:p
