New Zealand vs Australia Oct 11 2020 Bledisloe Cup

From the Aussie: "Jordan Petaia, in particular, pleased his new boss and that was by doing pretty much nothing at all. But the word from the medical staff was that the hip flexor injury the 20-year-old flyer sustained putting Harry Wilson away for Queensland’s opening try against the Brumbies...

Sydney Morning Herald suggesting Petaia and Wallabies remain hopeful that the injury isn't as bad as it appears. They also mention that Petaia was billed as Rennie's preferred 13 (duh) wityh either Paisami straight swap at 13 or Lolesio at Fly Half, To'omua and OConnor in the centres as the...

Rugby Championship in an Aussie bubble?

Sounds like ABs, Boks and Wobs are all in the same boat.

    Re: Simmons Yeah, Nah.

    Wallabies 2020

Unconfirmed re: Skelton and Arnold. Neither will be available for the Bledisloe as it falls outside the World Rugby window.

    Wallabies 2020

Incorrect. Australian rugby needs to be competitive again for Australia's sake.

I think you'll find that Petaia will be in front of Paisami at 13....

Rugby Championship in an Aussie bubble?

The Rugby Championships is scheduled for the international window defined by World Rugby. I strongly suspect the Argies and Saffas would tell us to go f&*k ourselves if we tried to push TRC earlier.

    Wallabies 2020

Just watched the YouTube clip of Dave Rennie posted by Rugby Pass on youtube. Good 7 minute video. A few call-outs: - A lot of video analysis has gone into reviewing games - particular emphasis on work ethic - The coaching team had originally selected a smaller squad, but increased the...

I disagree re: McReight. I think he's had a whale of a season and he has demonstrated his importance to the Reds over the past month. Their back row has been substantially better balanced with him playing at 7. His stats are also quite impressive (18 turnovers won in SRAu). He is the future at 7.

No, but being in the squad is. EDIT: Particularly if we have a 46 man squad (which will likely be 5-6 locks)

I hope that if we're bringing back one or two of Arnold, Rodda or Skelton, it doesn't come at the consequence of one of Hosea, Phillip or Blyth form a development perspective. I hope it comes at the expense of Simmons or Hanigan (whom are both O/S next year and have known ceilings as players).

I would suggest that RA wouldn't have made the announcement without sounding out the Head Coach and advanced discussions with some of the likely target players. ... Although this is RA we're talking about.

I'd suggest he's been (successfully) lobbying the RA board for an update on the eligibility criteria.

Oh yeah! I'd love Nick Phipps back too. ;)

I suspect that the shopping list would include: Arnold, Coleman, Skelton, McMahon & Kerevi. I suspect of that lot, Arnold and Skelton are high priorities. Rodda will be left in the wilderness for another 12 months or until he rejoins Aussie Rugby with the Force the most likely suitors.

State of the Union (origin) discussion

I saw a suggestion from Matt To'omua on instagram of a Pasifika vs Non-Pasifika (or an alternative name). His post below: "Few of the guys have been canvassing ideas of potential matches in Australia. An idea of a Pasifika Team vs Non-Pasifika Team (any ideas of a better name? Can’t be...

Agreed re: Swinton. Although I suspect we don't have much to fear as Wright, Valetini and even the likes of Wilson and Samu would likely be in front of him in the pecking order.
