Saw a report that the modelling suggests it's currently 50/50 on eliminating it by the end of next week, which is cool.

As for the actual test itself, first of all, it's good to have some high level rugby back I can shitpost about. Second of all, roll out the biggest, nastiest, lads Plumtree can muster and go hard at anything in yellow. Backs? They can all fart out some Paremoremo jailbreak b-ball so long as they get good ball so pick whoever.

Realistically Cane will start though. The question then becomes, which of Frizell or Sotutu gets bumped to make way for him? I'd bump Frizell because Cane is a good blindside and Sotutu has been great at #8 -- even after returning from that injury layoff -- and seems to be a good third jumper at the lineout.

Cane was at the heart of the ugly post-Chicago reprisal match in Dublin which hardly screamed cold blooded blue head serial killer. Though I guess you could say his is more controlled aggression in the vein of Kaino than Coles' niggle.

Speaking of, alternatively could go full throttle mental disintegration and chuck Coles and Akira in there. Those two and Moody will be full niggle 24/7. Once Brodie returns he'll be right back in the thick of it too. Back them up with the Sex Pest and Rieko for the full house of niggly c*nts.

I think Akira is a serious chance of being a bench option if you go Cane 7 Savea 8 because you then don't need 7 cover on the bench and so that opens the door for Akira as a 6/8.

I doubt whether Akira will make 23, I reckon Cane, Frizell and Savea will start, Sotutu on bench though I tend to prefer Cane ,Frizell and Sotutu starting. Just think they will go for tried and true in first test.

TK would be the best option, for sure. But is it even possible, unless he is brought into the squad today before departure tomorrow. I can't see any individuals being added to the squad once it has arrived in NZ because of, I'm assuming, the need for further quarantine before joining the team in practise sessions.

Sure I heard on ABC or SBS news tonight that the Wallabies won't be leaving for NZ until perhaps Saturday. Anyone throw some light on this, if so? What happened to Wednesday departure which was being reported?

They’re actually in the Hunter Valley I saw. Regardless, your point is right, why go to NZ too early now that they can train together as a squad after 3 day’s isolation. Get some work in now for a week, take a break for a few days, then get stuck into it again.

Especially with such a big squad and a lot of new faces, it makes sense to develop some connection before heading into the hornet’s nest.

Sanctuary Cove is nicer than NZ.

Personally I much prefer Queenstown where they going to be based. But I go along with KOB, have a good workout wherever they are for a week or so, then just head over about a 10 days or so out, give a good solid week's build up to test. It almost mirrors what ABs are doing too. They have a camp now, then going back after 3 days, then a camp early next week, then I think they assemble a week or so ahead of test.

^ Queenstown got canned at some point during the to&fro re: match dates, they're now going to Chateau On The Park in Christchurch (opposite Hagley Park & just up the road from the Al Noor mosque). Training ground is Linwood's which is where AB usually train when they're in town. As I understand it Wobs & AB will FIFO on match days hence the mid-afternoon kickoffs.

Apparently the Wallabies getting smashed at training this week (so predominantly fitness) and then will use the 3 days before of quarantining in NZ for recovery.

Also the captain is expected to be announced around midday.
