Scots have to beat Newington this Saturday for that to occur. No sure thing.

    Shute Shield 2019

That the stupidest post I've read for a while. Well done.

    Shute Shield 2019

While there's life there's hope Wamberal. Based on what I saw on Saturday it's hard to see them getting beaten, but sides have lost unloseable games before.

    Shute Shield 2019

A decade or so ago Warringah played at least some of their home games with 1sts starting at 7pm or 7.30pm and 2nds at 5 or 5.30 and so on. It's actually not a bad way to do things and also eliminates the early morning starts for the lower grades.

Why wouldn't he just force it? These guys watch too much league and don't actually know what they should do. Catch the ball or take it into in goal and put it on the ground and the game's over. Why take a chance on a referee error and run it dead? Dumb, perhaps shouldn't have been a penalty...

Although I'm not sure that the change in body shapes has made the game better.

I understand you emotion, but this thread isn't for scholarship debate and that's been a forum rule ever since I've been on G&GR. Start another thread and go for your life if you want to.

It was part of the process when the GPS rugby reverted to a 1 round competition. A 2 round, 10 week 1sts/2nds worked ok with a 1 round 9 week 3rds competition. But a 5 week 1 round 1sts competition didn't really work with a 9 week 3rds. Some schools also objected to travelling to Armidale...

Yes we would, although they'll get one this week for Back to Newington Day as it's a mandatory attendance for all students. But no soccer in 1979 so the whole of the school pretty much played rugby then.

    NSW AAGPS 2019

Let's kick off the week with a bit of nostalgia. From 40 years ago Newington defeat Scots at Stanmore to secure the GPS premiership in 1979. The game was played on Buchanan Oval (not a soccer post in sight). The crowd were louder than any GPS crowd today and the noise/singing/chanting went for...

I understand that Scots won the 15As by about a try.

Shore have had that little lineout move for a couple of years now. It's usually good for a try in the lower grades and in the age groups where there's no video analysis by coaches. I'm sure that the New coaches would have been aware of it and it sounds like they prepared for it.

    Shute Shield 2019

Wests are always a difficult team to play, but still 2 games from the semis you'd like to think that a team chasing a semis spot would put them away. I haven't seen that many Manly games this year, but in the ones that I have seen the common theme is that we've played some fantastic rugby but...
