    Shute Shield 2014

Yeh good point Dave. Why would a 3rd grader have any interest in playing from March to July and then doing bugger all for the rest. Surely if players are going to get better they need to play more matches - not less! Many rugby players are still playing cricket until the start of April so...

    Sydney Subbies 2013

Not sure what the eligibility rules are but he would have had to play more than 1 game against your guys XV. He would have had to play during the season as well. Cross played at Balmain the year before at least as well I believe. Perhaps even before that? Similarly not sure about all players...

    Shute Shield 2014

I am hearing that this new set up is a certainty for 2014 & the spots will go to tender with a criteria (mostly financial) required to be considered. Lets assume this does go through & the Shute Shield comp finishes in July before the new comp starts. 1. What happens to the other Shute...

    Sydney Subbies 2013

Well done Fly your Shammies are going well. No doubt with an eye on Division 1. Your games v Brothers will be closely watched later in the season. Anyone headed out to watch the Subbies Rep team at ANZ this weekend?

    Shute Shield 2013

Can someone provide an update on how big Charlie Leaneo is going at Parra. For a guy that played full-time league for St George & Canterbury & the in the UK I would have thought he would do well at SS level. How is he going week to week?

    Sydney Subbies 2013

Anyone in Div 2 care to fill us in on how Wil Brame has been playing for Forrest?

    Sydney Subbies 2013

Ozzie, nothing against BOB's and I hope they do come back. It would be terrible to drop down 2 Divisions in 2 years. Club Champ points are really based on 1st grade wins and at 0-4 that's not a good start.

    Sydney Subbies 2013

Looking at the Div 2 draw, Petersham seem to have the easy side of the draw at the moment but finish with tough games. Back to back against Brothers then Oatley, Newport & UNSW. They should jump to an early lead and it will be up to the others to reign them in. Barker on a downhill slide.

    Sydney Subbies 2013

Update: Division 1 relegation looks on the money with Iggies but the others look off with Colleagues only having 1 win from 4. Mosman are leading the way with 4 from 4. After a slow start Balmain had an eye opening result yesterday against St Pats. Drummoyne looks like they wont reach the...

    Sydney Subbies 2013

#8 Isaiah Pine 2012 captain of West Harbour now playing at St Pats as is Gray Viane from the West Tigers. Pine is a beast! Knox have picked up a few big name kiwis - Kahu Tamatea & Alex Samoa

    Sydney Subbies 2013

Some interesting signings in Subbies land with former Manly & Norths captain Wil Brame signing on for Forrest to play in Division 2. I have also heard that Easts have lost their 1st grade hooker for 2012 recently as he has signed with Colleagues who according to some players have loosened the...

Ryan, are the teams listed anywhere?

    Shute Shield 2013 Transfers

Done That, I agree with you on this. Belly while it is fine to say that he has first grade ability, Done That is saying that he wasn't West's 1st grade hooker and he wasnt. Doesnt mean he is not a good player and wont play 1st grade but he wasn't West's 1st grade hooker.

    Shute Shield 2013

No doubt it is a great feat to play a Test for the AB's you wont find me doubting that and that is far from what I said. The point is that he is a former AB that played a Test off the bench in 2005 but is now playing with Parra. Is that really of interest to the jurnos? If so it would have...

    Shute Shield 2013

Likewise its not the nicest area to play. If you are attracting outside players to your club I cant imagine a trip to Penrith for training and matches is that enticing?

    Shute Shield 2013

Story I heard from a good source was that they wanted to build a gym underneath the grandstand. They made an application to council offering a $100,000 investment. It was knocked back and the power brokers asked why. They were told that the lease is not guaranteed. They began to get worried...

    Shute Shield 2013

I have edited it to remove reference. It was common knowledge and was even written about in the Daily Tele but my language was inappropriate.

    Shute Shield 2013

Prodigy I know you mean well but a rugby journeyman that played 1 Test for the AB's, a couple of Super Rugby games, a few games for Hunters Hill when he was friends with members of the club and then turns up at Parra towards the end of last season is hardly news worthy is it...

    Shute Shield 2013

Good oil: Penrith's lease on their home ground is up and council are forcing them to share with League. This will affect training mainly in year 1 but will make a big difference next year.

Ridiculous comment. A. they are not student athletes and B. nobody, repeat absolutely nobody is getting rich via a rugby club. You've been watching too many espn 30 for 30 episodes.
