Thanks FTS. Looks like a really strong comp. Eddies seem to be doing it really tough this year, WTF?

    ACTJRU & ACT Schools XV - 2011

It must be a long time since Marist have beaten eddies that convincingly. Good for the comp though.

    ACTJRU & ACT Schools XV - 2011

I hope they do one day. They used to be very strong when they were the old St Patricks before merging with the girls school there. They had alot of rep players and were tough to beat in Goulburn.

    ACTJRU & ACT Schools XV - 2011

Good to see eddies getting pegged back...money for the scholarships must have dried up. I have never worked out why Mackillop and Trinity havent got their own sides together. It would be good for the comp to have more teams and more to the point school sides playing. Dont you think?

    Waratah Shield 2011

There was a strong suggestion that Eddies had some agenda to join either the GPS or ISA in Sydney to get more regular competition. Joeys saw an end to that idea when they hammered eddies I think in about 06. The old ASC really was a great comp that saw some grat battles between your old school...

    Waratah Shield 2011

There were plenty that given scholarships to attend. I have been told by fellas that were given them they were. The first one was a fella named Adam Mitchell in 1996. He openly told people he had half his fees paid for. Why deny it when it was so obvious?

    Waratah Shield 2011

If Eddies had not decided to buy their sides in the late 90's and 2000's then the Canberra sides would still get a crack. Eddies have been pegged back to what they were pre those days that all empire.

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

I think headmasters of any school need to get tough on it. I have no problem with one or two guys being bought in to the schools to improve the quality of the side. My worries stem from my own experience with eddies where there were sides with any where up to 8 - 10 guys on some form of...

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

I think the only positive aspect of rugby scholarships in the GPS is that at least most of the schools are offering them. I went to Marist Canberra years ago. Back then the ASC comp which comprised all the ACT private schools such as Marist, Eddies, Grammar etc was extremely even and competitive...
