    The Wallabies Thread

So who are we gonna send out against the Fijians in Melbourne? (Think that's our first game) I'd like to see Kepu Latu Sio Coleman Arnold Higginbotham Hooper Timani Genia Hodge Speight Kerevi Kurindrani Folau Hunt Hanson Ala'alatoa Mayhew Tui McMahon Powell Foley Beale Bit...

    Sydney Subbies 2017

Nooooo only reason I signed up this year was because div4 meant so much less travel than being in div 3.

Reds vs Waratahs - 29th April RD 10

Is second row tui a realistic chance of making the wallabies squad this year? Haven't watched a full reds game this season but he has had a great first half

I'm not one to drink at a subbies footy match but don't see the problem with bringing your own at all.

    Sydney Subbies 2017

Oatley still fielded 10 players in first grade who had either played juniors or colts with the club. 3rds are full of good players that mostly don't bother to rock up to training, cant really chuck them in 2nds ahead of guys that show up every week

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

No latching and totally understand why it was being discussed. Saw something that I believed to be untrue and challenged it, same as you do when you see something you don't agree with.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

so let me get this straight, your argument is between 10 to 20 years ago it was the case in a couple of eastern suburbs private schools (im guessing a combo of scots, cranbrook, waverly) that they couldnt play school and club rugby, so it must still be occurring now..........

    Waratahs 2017

He also had a few discipline problems off the field, I think getting dropped by the Tahs was the reality check he needed to have

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

Having it written down and actually enforcing it are two completely seperate things. I'm not that many years out school, went to one of the better gps rugby schools, played club rugby and local rep rugby. I know at least 6 other guys in my year at school that did it too, including scholarship...

Absolute myth, just an excuse from parents that don't want to have their whole weekend taken up by footy

    Western Force 2017

True although what's that 10? (I wouldn't count Zak Holmes in the same category as the rest of them). It'd be nice to have them 100% but i don't believe 10 players are the make or break of our super rugby squads after those 10, the other 20 or so Aussies that are overseas are very...

    Western Force 2017

The talent pool isn't our problem, how many OS players do you think would realistically make an impact? Maybe half a dozen? Our problem is coaching, the talent is there, our teams on paper are better than SA franchises and not TOO far off the kiwis but our coaching at all levels of the game is...

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

I just don't see it happening mate, what you'd end up with is 2 divisions. Div 1 will be GPS and CAS then the other would be ISA, sport high schools and public schools. Unless you split it into 3 divisions then it's even more useless cause those type of fixtures are already being played at the...

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

I don't see how this will work in the short to medium term? "Pleb" public schools regularly forfeit to sport high schools in the Waratah shield (for the most part it's justified as they usually get demolished) how would these schools go against private schools? It boarder lines duty of care with...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

they wouldn't follow it regardless haha but I have to be honest, the money side of business sometimes goes over my head, I'm quite ignorant of aspects such as collective bargaining agreements

    Where to for Super Rugby?

For the record I'm in favour of a trans Tasman comp with Japan and possibly 1 island based team

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I think last nights game between the Tahs and rebels showed that we do have the potential to go it alone if the ARU goes down that path. While we obviously don't match it skill wise with the kiwis atm, the product on offer last night was still entertaining and engaging. In saying this I don't...
