Wallabies v Pumas, Bankwest (Parra), Sat 5th December

Interesting how the former Australia coaching staff from 2015-2017 (Cheika & Ledesma) managed to coach the Pumas to a higher placing in the Tri-Nations standings than the current Wallabies staff with Australia. How the tables have turned..

I beg to differ - it's time for the return of the boys: uh, time-stamp not working?? go to 3:51.

Australia need Scott Robertson more than they know. 4/4 Super Rugby titles, 3/4 NPC titles. What did Dave Rennie ever win at the Chiefs without Wayne Smith? 1/4 NPC titles with Wellington. Might as well not beat around the bush fellas, just bring in the big-guns already..

Wallabies v Pumas, Bankwest (Parra), Sat 5th December

The penalty count was 15-6. Also the equalizing try the Wobbs scored was off a crooked line-out throw. Couldn't believe the ref missed that. It was only not straight by 3 metres!

Here's a thought..what if Robertson who the NZRU said needed more experience in "adversity" turns down a contract extension with NZ rugby, links up with Dave Rennie & the Wallabies beat England in the World Cup final in three years?

Crikey, it's only been a year under Rennie & we're already grovelling at Robbie's feet begging for him to come back? Maybe this time he can bring in Razor as his assistant? Deans has been Robertson's coaching mentor, they keep in regular contact, and he influenced Razor's methods right from...

Wallabies v Pumas, Bankwest (Parra), Sat 5th December

Pumas really probably should've won that, if I'm being honest. They seemed to switch-off subconsciously for a moment after the red card and temporarily let Wobbs back into the game. Australia did pretty well to salvage that IMO playing with only 14 men.

I must say that’s an exceptionally well-balanced side, including the bench mix. plenty of valuable late-impact options with LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto), Fainga’a, Tupou, Valetini, Simone. only issue here is Gordon over McDermott.

    Wallabies 2020

Meh, not really. At least not refined talent anyway. Young players like Cooper, Beale, O'Conner.. certainly couldn't match the composure of their NZ counterparts. Badly error-prone. For every skittering run, there was a dropped ball or regulatory tackle missed. That 'talent' that Deans had...

Don't you think you're underselling that period a tad? I recall Deans got the Wallabies to 2nd ranked in the world for 3 years? I'd say that's a pretty decent achievement for a country in which union is merely an after-thought & rarely gets acknowledged in the sport's section of your local...

I was just responding to the gentleman using trump-isms to get a point across. Anyway we're getting off-topic, the cyclops is bound to turn up any minute now. "Concealed within his fortress, the lord of mordor cyclopath sees all. His gaze pierces cloud, shadow, earth, and flesh. You know of...

    Wallabies 2020

Cheika fluked his way to the 2015 final riding on Dingo & Link's coat-tails, then failed bigly to take the team forward.

    Wallabies 2020

Derpus has gone suspiciously silent after this one. I recall the 2008-2011 cycle was very much a re-building phase, featuring some of the youngest Wallabies teams to take the field. Cheika had the advantage of inheriting the Dean's blooded players at their peak/absolute maturity come 2015...

You got it mate. Pretty hard to succeed when you've got staff who aren't on the same page as you. Dean's assistant coaches were part of a co-ordinated effort to oust him. See the 3rd Lions test capitulation. Deans was set-up to fail, a planned ploy to get rid of him, burdened with the weight of...

    Wallabies 2020

I'd suggest Wisemantel is behind the tactical side of things. I can see Scott Wisemantel's fingerprints all over these Wallabies. Very organized, pre-ordinated, step-by-step actions. Identical to England under Wisemantel. Like a game of chess, very pre-planned, calculated movements. By the...

As did Robbie Deans, scaringly similar in-fact (ie workhorse McCabe over flashy centres). Seems as if Rennie & Deans' coaching philosophies are more closely aligned than G&G's would like to admit. Concerning results their 1st years have been quite similar too: One Bledisloe upset against NZ at...

    Here's the best team we could field, but the selectors won't have the courage to.. 1. Moody 2. Coles 3. Tu'ungafasi 4. Whitelock 5. Tuipulotu 6. A.Ioane 7. Cane 8. Sotutu 9. Smith 10. Mo'unga 11. Clarke 12. Goodhue 13. ALB 14. Jordan 15. J.Barrett 16. Taylor 17. Karl.T 18. Laulala 19...

Rugby Championship in an Aussie bubble?

It's all 4D chess from Rennie, sacrifice the Rugby Championship to ensure Foster's re-appointment for next year.

    think Rennie would've opted for experience, with Hodge & DHP at 12 & 15. O'Connor 10, Wright 11, Hodge 12, Petaia 13, Koroibete 14, Haylett-Petty 15.
