No, I believe he is a nephew of David Nucifora.

First week back at school fellas. Last year the impact of repeating students (one in particular) influenced the premiership. So, who has repeated this year? Are there any other significant movements / gains apart from those already mentioned in the thread. I have only heard that Nudgee have...

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

At least in Sydney the scholarships seem to be offered to locals. In Brisbane they send the scouts to New Zealand and some Pacific Island nations. So prevalent, that a sports coach (who has coached national teams in the past) at one school has just resigned. In his departing speech to the...

Yes, I thought Rodwell was a certainty. However, a lot of water under the bridge before selections. No talk of big name repeats yet. It changed the face and the outcome of the comp in 2012.

Agree with you kickbackkid on the hooker position. The possibility I have heard to get the strongest forward combination is that Toby McNamee moves back to the Hooker position where he had played all his schoolboy rugby and his rep rugby up until this year. And bring in Lach Howard who is the...

Selection politics and bias, Gold Squads unfairness etc.

I have found in QLD that the regional areas usually publish names of the boys who make the various programmes. But in Brisbane it seems to become very secret squirrel. The only time I have found out selected squad members is usually through family and friends of those selected.

Scott Higginbotham - Liverpool kiss on McCaw

On an other forum, AB supporters are wondering why the refs are never picking up these cheap shots on Richie. I don't think they understand the power (or laws) of Richie's "cloak of invisibility". It works around him every time he is offside. So why do supporters think that it magically lifts...

2012 Australia vs New Zealand - 20 Oct

At just about every restart the AB's looked for and deliberately targeted McCabe. He is so bad under the high ball that he coughed it up at least 3 or 4 times off the restart. Why couldn't the Wallabies put someone competent at catching near him. Why did the coaching staff persist having him...

I think I have put in a previous post that the u16 qld teams are a schools based selection. This automatically ensures every player in school (now probably 99.9% of players) is eligible for selection regardless if they play school or club or both. It operate separately from the club based...

The Victorian team came third in the u14. They were one of the strongest teams in the age group and were considered one of the teams to best but stumbled in the semis.

For the record, the QJRU State Championships were just held in Toowoomba over the last three days for the u13 to u17 age groups. These are regional based championships (with players selected in their region from the club system). The BJRU generally fields four teams now labeled Red (previously...

Everton Park have taken their u12's to NZ. I think Albany Creek took their u15's to the UK and France this year and have done a French tour a couple of years ago, also with the u15's

    National U/16 Championships 2012

Addressing this query:- The u15 Queensland team is currently selected through the club system after the QJRU State Championships are held. There is a significant portion of schoolboy rugby players that do not participate in club rugby and are therefore ineligible for this team. The team also...

Great to see a lot of talk about TSS. I rate them and are genuine contenders for the title next year. But you do have to be consistent and there was a bit of a unexplained loss at the backend of the 16A season. So can a TSS insider explain how GT beat them convincingly ( on the scoreboard)...

    Queensland Junior Rugby

The tournament programme I saw only disclosed the schools the boys came from. In the Met North team there seemed to be a good cross representation across schools rather than a cluster from one or two schools. From memory, the schools with more than one player included Terrace (4), Nudgee (3)...
