It’s such an important point. A mate of mine likens the NRL to a soap opera - there’s always drama, intrigue, constant content and developments, all drip fed basically daily. Which all creates a huge amount of fan engagement.

Well spoken too, considering how angry he’d be being over there. I went all the way to Japan in 2019 to have the pleasure of watching us capitulate to England in the quarter final - for the poor fans over there now this is far far worse.

Honest question - I haven’t even watched the game yet. I’ve left work early sick and am now at home; is it even worth watching? One plus side is that I’m already ill so surely I can’t feel any worse.
