Wallabies v England in Melbourne, 18 June

The last few phases by the Aussies they were out on their feet also. Guys bunched up and not really ready to take the ball up for a run. Fardy took it up halfhearted and not surprising lost it in contact.

If I had to pick one I'd say (d). The Wallabies had stretched England to the other side of the field and good formation.

A very tight half. High level of physicality from both sides. Lots of stuff off the ball from both also. It will be interesting how Cheika and Jones use their benches and whether they can spark something to break the arm wrestle.

They were penalised and Joubert allowed 10 plus phases advantage and the Wallabies were 2m out when he called advantage over

It's been an issue all Super rugby and now for the more of the world to see the shocking surface that is AAMI Park. I live in Melbourne and I feel embarrassed

I look to a thread about Phipps tapping the England players head after the tackle....

And wingers throwing in at set lineouts.... There aren't too many international sides using their winger to defend at 12 or because they need the 12 out the back sweeping kicks.

Seems like a lot of unnecessary shifting around IMO. 12s should be able to defend at 12 and why not use the wing and fullback to manage the kicks.

I'm not one to get hung up about weight/height but isn't McMahon bigger than Hooper? It will be interesting if he can use his strengths - quickness, mobility, etc to his advantage.

Why was he defending out on the wing then?
