Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

How about a team picked on form? It won't (and probably shouldn't) happen as there are too many debutantes and weighting will be given to test experience, but for my money this would be the form team from the squad. Sio Moore Alexander Pyle Horwill Fardy Gill Mowen Genia JOC (James O'Connor) To'omua Lilo AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)...

Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

Albert Anae brought in as front row cover seems a bit odd? I guess his main job will be opposed training over the next few weeks, not to actually gun for a position in the 23.

    Springbok Squad for TRC

From an outsiders perspective it's baffling how Brussow doesn't get picked, easily one of the form players in the S15 this year I reckon. Is size really prioritised above all else?

    2013 All Blacks

Agree all are close bar Mowen v Read, while Mowen has had a strong season and a couple of good tests Read is arguably the form player in the world at the moment.

    2013 All Blacks

Another strong squad of course. I think Luatua needs to get at much game time as possible as 6 has been relative (for the AB's) weakness for a couple of years and he looks like the real deal. From a wobs perspective I really only see 2 and 9 as positions where we have an advantage and perhaps...

    Play for the reds? /Troll

Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

Harris and Fainga'a are third string options at best only who got their caps in a time of injury crisis, Fainga'a has been injured or average most the year and Harris rarely cracks the 23 for the reds these days. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) as we know and I'm happy with Kuridrani and CFS in the squad though, both...

Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

Oh yeah Horne is missing? That's a real surprise considering how thin the midfield is looking. He's had his best form yet this year I reckon.

Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

Solid squad, some well deserved debutantes. I'm not sure on Mike Harris or A Fainga'a but I guess midfield stocks are thin (shame about Godwin being injured, when did that happen?) Taps has dropped a long way not to be considered above those two. Interestingly only two hookers also?

Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

Can't help but feel both of those are a blessing in disguise, Beale can sort his priorities out and maybe Palu can finally heal up properly. MMM into the 23 and maybe Schatz as a smokey in the squad. It's a real shame higgers is broken as there still isn't a physical back row impact player ready...

Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

Not forgotten, he's in my squad but on his excellent form this year I see him as more of a 12 now he's learnt to pass/offload a bit. In fact I think he would be pretty good outside a player like Cooper where as To'omua needs someone like Lilo outside him.

    Kuridrani, Inman.

Wallabies Squad - the Link Era

I've looked into my crystal ball and discovered tomorrow's squad. I am the rugby nostradamus. P: Robbo, Alexander, Slipper, Kepu, Sio, Ryan - 6 H: Moore, Fainga'a, Hanson - 3 L: Horwill, Simmons, Douglas, Pyle, Carter - 5 BR: Mowen, Palu, Hooper, Gill, MMM, Kimlin, Dennis - 7 1/2: Genia, White...

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

Maybe going with the strong silent type is a canny move by Gatland then. Still baffled by the back line though and it's not too late for Dingo to make his own odd selections either.

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

Strong forward pack there, you would expect them to go for the scrum at every opportunity but there some baffling selections in the backs. When was the last time Phillips, Roberts or Davies had a good game vs the Wobs? Davies over BOD is in particular odd, even if he isn't setting the world on...

Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

McCalman on the bench? That's a dingo special. Not a bad player but others deserve it more, especially if it's over Smith. Maybe it heralds more changes? Douglas gone Simmons starting? Simmons gone all together? Hooper gone for Smith? Gill gone? Who knows. Mogg on the bench isn't a surprise...

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

I'll put my hat in for Cummins as well, nothing against Tomane he's a class player, I just think he's more of a classic finisher style of winger and having Cummins would bring a nice balance to the back 3 assuming Beale starts at 15. Cummins runs and tackles hard and never takes a step back, he...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

I think most people are on the money with who the next 6 will be, I'm going to throw in a few smokeys for fun, people that deserve a crack but won't get one due the perceived need for conservative experienced picks to face the lions. I think a few up and comers given the chance would play out of...

    Wallabies Watch

I think Simmons should and will get the nod also. I've never been a fan as he's come across as sooky penalty magnet but something has changed in the last 2 months or so and he's playing tight and hard and running the line out well with minimal grub behavior. I don't mind timani, he's good in a...
