    Shute Shield 2014

If I was a 3rd grader with aspirations to play 2nd grade (which there are a fair few of) I'd be filthy if my club farmed me out to another identity (subbies club) because they've got injuries. I'd also be filthy at not being able to back up for 2nd grade & possibly come off the bench because I'm...

Player movements for Shute Shield 2014

Harry Jones will remain a Rat next year

Player movements for Shute Shield 2014

I've heard Andrew Kellaway (Aust Schools fullback) has chosen Randwick as nect seasons destination & they've promised him a 1st XV spot...

    Shute Shield 2013

They got rattled by a very determined Rats team that day

    Shute Shield 2013

You'll never stop player payments (which come in many forms) but $500 per player per game would kill most clubs. The only ones able to afford that would be Uni, Manly, Souths...

    Shute Shield 2013

And where do all these clubs get $500 per player per game? $7500 per team per game x 16 = $120,000 a year on player payments. Some clubs don't even attract that much from a major sponsor!

    Sydney Colts - 2014

I know there is a very close link with the Australian Schoolboys & Syd Uni

    Sydney Subbies 2013

Maybe Drewy Mitchell's games for Randwick qualified him as he was "on loan" to Randwick... Sounds silly but hey.... So is a S15 playing Subbies rugby. SackRobbie.... Is Forest really putting out that much cash? Pats would be paying him that much regardless wouldn't they?

    Shute Shield 2014

Get back to 22 rounds of Shute Shield, if the ABC only wants to televise 16 rounds cos of finances then put rounds 6-22 on tv & leave 1-5 without tv coverage? Setup "academy" program's at Shute Shield clubs & enhance these clubs knowledge etc by sharing all the information/players from academies...

    Shute Shield 2014

Well since Pulver got so hammered by several presidents last week on the meeting on future 3rd tier etc you can only guess it went like this: He wants to run a Shute Shield with only Waratahs playing occasionally until July or so, then run an ARC style comp with a bunch of S15 players & selected...

    Sydney Colts - 2014

Expect a good showing from Warringah again next year. Decent numbers already indicated & a good setup in place. A couple of very handy players aswell. Most will be fresh out of school so the next 2 years should look after themselves

    Shute Shield 2013

Big fat YAWN is what today was... How embarrassing for Shute Shield

    Shute Shield 2014 Format

It's simple. If you aren't in the match day 23 for that week you go back to club land somewhere (preferably Sydney & Brisbane) and you play with that club for the entire season. None of this bullshit playing for a Melbourne club for 3 games then heading to Sydney to play for another club. Sort...

    Shute Shield 2013

Uni will win 1s by 3... It'll be a cracker. 2s will be Eastwood by 20. They're on fire. In reference to should be at the SFS. It was years ago... Why not still? I think a Shute Shield 1st grade game should be played as a Waratahs S15 curtain raiser at every home game (shared around) Just my...

    Shute Shield 2014 Format

Bill Pulver will be doing his best to kill the Shute shield & Australia's biggest rugby nursery as he can. All he wants is bigger super rugby squads (up to 40 players & some fringies), stamp out academies to "save money" play a Mickey Mouse super B comp & try flog it to pay tv & run some...

    Shute Shield 2013

That Shute Shirld final at Rat Park in 2005 was in incredible day. At least 7000-8000 packed in!
  19. howyagoin

Choose 4 clubs would you include in a national comp

I've got an idea... Sydney Uni (who have more money than NSWRU) could bankroll the whole thing & do some good for the game!

    Colts 2013

There's also a couple of star players there that are of a strong league background & hopefully they choose rugby to play in colts instead of the Sea Eagles or Some other NRL club. Hayden Cochrane (St Aug fullback) is one & the other Is Joey Lussick at Newington. Both Rats juniors. Would be great...
