    Shute Shield 2017

I agree with what you're saying... But in the interest of keeping say, the 2nd grade competition fair... Would it not be better to have to of qualified for 2nd grade? Just ideas... I know it means some good footballers miss out, but in absence of any other suggestions (apart from a Trevor...

    Shute Shield 2017

Lower graders want more rugby. Ending in the last week of July is not good enough. How about play the 1st grade grand final when it needs to be and continue lower grades until early September as a compromise. Eligibility works the same as the finals eligibility. Have to play a certain number of...

Sydney Rays .. NRC Team Official Thread

Also, Simon Cron has asked for a very big commitment from a team of essentially amateur players who have careers of their own. Including several 4 hour sessions a week

Plenty of Norths boys in the original squad. A couple of last years players told they aren't required this season...

There'll always be disagreements with selections in teams like this. Geoff Townsend makes the final call I guess.. It kind of looks like a couple of players are in the starting side to have all 4 clubs represented. I know that doesn't make sense but it may be how it's being worked out

    Shute Shield 2014

The eligibility rules are so easy to bend & every club does it. Either to lower their points value in 1s or 2s as "reserves" don't accrue points towards the team total if they've started a grade lower that day. Every club does it, year after year you see blokes run on, then get subbed after 2...

Sydney Rays .. NRC Team Official Thread

In regards to the halfbacks one of them had to go obviously somewhere else to give themselves all a chance of shining. Sharing a bench spot when they are top quality halfbacks (the 3 of them) isn't going to do anyone justice

Sydney Rays .. NRC Team Official Thread

Crawford has already said he'll be playing at the Rays unless he changes his mind like quite a few have... Swanepoel to Rams Matwijow to Country Also hearing a few Norths boys have baulked because Scott Fava isn't involved anymore. Is he a bit of a messiah up there? A Wayne Bennett-Darius Boyd...

    National Rugby Championship 2014

Did the play for a "marquee player" ever come through for the NRC? Heard Brad Thorn is floating around a particular area of NRC significance at the moment & is quite fit looking

Sydney Rays .. NRC Team Official Thread

Crawford & Fardy were tack ons as they are professionally contracted players who will be part of the squad. Only "amateur" players were named last week. Also, with Northam... Don't discount players coming in from outside that squad. The coaching staff have said they will be keeping their eye on...

Fardy will be in the Wallabies definately but he'll most likely be aligned with the Rays rather than Canberra. Also heard Swanepoel was gonna be playing at the Rams?

    Shute Shield 2014

No one should ever approach an official the way he was approached yesterday. No matter what happens. It's been & done now. Not ideal but not much point harping over it

    Shute Shield 2014

Harry can kick the ball a mile off both feet & can perform a kick off with either foot with little difference also. Very strong through the hips, agile & much quicker than he looks. Good point of difference to come off the bench. An abundance of good backs at the rats at the moment
