Both sides coaches wouldn't have been overly impressed as the game never reached any great heights...lots of dropped ball from both sides..Joeys 3 Sandell and the 8 Hanigan and backs Pat Curtain 9 and Kurtis Bennet 13 looked very good..On the Kings side Burke 2 McCalman 7 ( kept them close) and...

i would doubt that given Scots didn't even want their boys participating in the NGS, so I'd say Shute Shield would be a stretch...

agree Inside Shoulder..this thread should focus on the high quality rugby that the GPS comp delivers..blowing smoke unnecessarily up some of the boys rear ends, and conversely bagging some of the boys becaus ethey have been selected is pretty weak...my assumption is that all the boys selected in...

A full strength Joeys side effectively did play a weakened Warringah side last year when they were beaten by St Augustines. Its a mute argument on who and why should play up..the super star backs at Joeys are indeed very good players as are the boys at Riverview..school policies obviously...

Interesting commentary on this yrs Joeys 16's..They have been the standout team in this age group all the way..although have lost to both Kings and Augustines in trials. I think there are 6 or so yr 11 boys in that team, so the issue for them will be when they hit yr 12 and those boys arent...

Re Scots NGS numbers..they had a few there previously such as the obvious ones like Kellaway...but I heard that Scots withdrew them earlier this year..Not sure if there was a falling out or Scots just think they are better at player development than the ARU...

pretty fair assessment of last years 15's view v joeys.. I saw that game as well..the view forwards were totally dominated on that day meaning the backs had liitle chance to ignite..there's no question that view 1st 15 have had good wins over a number of strong B division teams..although I would...

    NSW U16 - schools, NSWJRU / SJRU / CRJU 2013

hard to see anyone getting the better of them this year..although its a funny age group in that ( excl Scots because of their yr 9 split) Riverview struggle with Joeys when it matters...Kings seem to lift big time when they play Joeys...and Riverview put on between 30-40 pts when they play...

fair to say that the GPS ( Presidents ) sides that get put up this year will be very strong..the 2012 NSW 15's backs are basically all GPS..with a number of the forwards also GPS boys.. all those boys you mentioned are first class players and Leaver made NSW 15's...I actually think that even...

Not sure exact weight but I saw him out there as well and looks in the 115-120 range...big difference is that NGS off season has turned the weight into pretty much just muscle..also he is fit where in 2012 he was coming back after 6 months out with a knee injury... Should have a good season...

Agree on those 2 boys...both are excellent players.... and will be selected for sure, but I think Chapman probably isn't too far off.. So possibly a bench spot....there are some very strong back rowers in CAS and GPS.. Lachie Simpson at Joeys is also a special..injured last year so missed the...

    CAS Rugby 2013

Some suggestion out there that the weight of expectation by having the big name coach at Knox is causing the boys to feel more pressure to perform than they should....once they settle and start enjoying the experience of playing 1st XV and back them selves, take the pressure to win off...

Sarcophilus...you have it under control..we are obviously calling it different things..but bringing in specific players to cover specific positions of specific weakness is what i call "up-skilling" your squad..I personally dont support it but can see why some schools feel the need to do it..my...

The other argument to these boys moving up from 16's to opens was best demonstrated by View 16's last year..when they lost 5 -6 super stars to the opens, they really struggled early on., smashed by TKS in the trial..but the team found a way to improve without those players, and eventually beat...

The 2012 under 15's city side def country something like 19-12? With country getting a try on the bell...pretty scrappy affair but very tough encounter... That Under 15 NSW side went on to beat act, vic, qld 1 and 2, but they scored something like 250 points for and never had a single point...

feed back on Knox v Barker 16's on Saturday... apparently Harry Chapman (flanker/ JGS) Knox was outstanding in the game....he could be in the frame for schools or SJRU if form holds up..anyone else stand out?

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2013

The future in this age group is going to be very interesting in a couple fo years..Joeys ( this years 16's) have been pretty dominant, but i think there are around 6 year 11 boys in the side..so may lose some talent in year 12..Scots have up skilled their squad i think..1 forward and a back (...

hamstring might explain the 15's form....do you know if many of the regular A players were involved in the AAGPS meet on Saturday...I suspect the likes of Eddie King , Tom Wright etc would have been at Athletics??

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2013

agree with your take on Grant for opens...there are better players in that Joeys age group that will not be promoted to opens...but none the less it would be good for Dylan to be back to form if that is where he is..dominant in teh 13's..less so in the 14's..and actually struggled against th...
