Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

That may be true, but it's a chicken and egg situation. the 5/8 needs to be moving forward otherwise the pass in front of him will miss him altogether. As I said, when Cooper returns in a few rounds, I guarantee you you'll see Cooper running forward and taking the ball close to the line and...

come on Braveheart. It's pretty hard to blame Genia for how deep his 10 is standing. I guarantee you when Cooper returns he wont be standing deep.

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Why? I think his form's has been good in the early rounds, considering the circumstances. Genia provides better impact off the bench than White. If it's a wet track, maybe White.

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

    Ok so this is what I'm proposing for the England / Wales: 1. Slipper 2. Moore 3. Kepu 4. Simo 5. Carter 6. Fardy 7. Pocock/Hooper 8. Palu 9. Phipps 10. Cooper 11. Horne 12. To'omua 13. Kuridrani 14. JOC (James O'Connor) 15. Folau 16. TPN 17. Sio 18. Alexander (?) 19. Skelton 20. McCalman 21. Hooper/Pocock 22...

But you don't select a national team / squad based on form alone. Test match experience and past performances must also be considered. JOC (James O'Connor) has proven he is class at test level. It would be madness not to have him in the squad

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Really? He's played fullback for the wallabies on a number of occasions. again my selection of JOC (James O'Connor) over Beale at 15 is really that i think JOC (James O'Connor) is more solid on defence, but offers about the same in terms of attacking skills. JOC (James O'Connor) will also spend most of the season playing wing and fullback.

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

To say JOC (James O'Connor) is in no form is extremely harsh. He's only played 2 games since returning from the NH and he's playing in a poorly performing team with a pack that's going backwards. He's also been forced to "fill in at Flyhalf and then Fullback. I actually thought he had some good moments against...

Can I ask you this BH - who would you prefer to see start at 12 against England. Lilo or Beale?

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Well you make a good point re his value as a bench player, and if i was going to select him that would probably be what gets him over the line. Then again is Beale a much better bench option than Lilo. Lilo plays 10. He could play 15 at a pinch but with guys like AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) and JOC (James O'Connor) also in the side...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

@ Dumbledore - I wouldn't be taking Beale if I consider him the 3rd best inside centre, 3rd best fullback and 4th best flyhalf. Again I'm not saying I wouldn't select him. He is very experience and clearly has a knack for pulling a rabbit out of the hat when you need one, but at the moment im...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I think it's pretty must a certainty that Cheika will pick him. I'm just saying with only 13 backs to choose, I personally wouldn't have him as a lock. If you're selecting Beale, it's as an inside centre, and as I said if To'omua goes down injured, I'd be really worried about starting Beale at...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

No way should Beale be a lock for the squad. At this stage it's looking like you take either Beale or Lilo as a back-up inside centre. Lilo has had an outstanding start to the season for the Brumbies, and IMO was the better 12 for the wallabies last year. I agree that Beale looks in great...

Some left of field selections. Not sure where to start. No Hooper in the 23 is going to give the tah fans a heart attack. OConnor at 12?

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I wouldn't say we need a crisis. We only have 4 capped lock. It would only take one injury and we'd most likely need to cap new players. Same goes for THP, maybe half back

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

It's Horwill's spot to lose. Even in average form, he showed enough on the EOYT to prove that he can be a handy member of the squad, albeit only a bench / injury back up. He has a tonne of experience and his set piece work is strong. If simo goes down injured, I would think Horwill would be the...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Yeh he is starting to get my people's attention. the bloke played 81 minutes on Friday and was trying to make an impact until the very end. He's clearly not yet in peak physical condition. I reckon he could lose another couple of kilos, without losing his effectiveness. It's hard to see an...

Reds v Waratahs, round 4, Saturday 7 March

Before the season started the real worry for the Reds was injuries. We were short on backups at 5/8 and in the tight 5. We are seeing those worries become a reality. The loss of horwill and Simmon (and Holmes) is really hurting us. The loss of Cooper is making life tough. Yes the tahs look like...
