no i think despite his suisse ads and brand o'connor talk he is the best of the three of them, personality wise. he is a very hard worker and a great communicator on field. letting go of betham was mind boggling - who did we pick up in lieu of him??
  2. Sir Arthur Higgins

    Rebels 2013

fair call. he might not be liked but i would have to assume he is respected as a rugby brain, player and possibly leader. i thought lachie had resigned for us last year? was that just for one year? i dont think he will go anywhere unless he wants to go overseas. force, brumbies, tahs, and reds...

myself and a few others have said as much re mitchell for awhile. he seems to love melbourne and gets on very well with a lot of the guys. he is the sort of personality we need more of. high workrate, low ego and involved in the club/community. my mail is also that JOC (James O'Connor) is not too well liked at...

    Cheetahs vs Rebels RD 7

i've seen nothing to suggest we should target faainga. we have the kiwi, saffy and reid who have all showed they are capable at 7. we need props, and another playmaking back and wings. i'd like to see a backline of 9 burgess 10 JOC (James O'Connor) 11 Vuna 12 Mitchell 13 Inman 14 Lachie Turner (he is 25...

    Rebels 2013

yes i do recall that. that really did some damage. we are really going to need to go back to back against the force and kings. in the absence of wins there, we will be lucky to get another one this year or it will come from an unlikely spot. replacements for hill??

    Cheetahs vs Rebels RD 7

the old amber throat charmer didn't betray you. PAE was very good. as was reid. i would say our best were PAE, Reid, Inman (in the backs) and pyle looked good today. delve was horrible. not sure what to make of that but you have to back the big fella to bounce back. i suspect he has gotten a...

arbitrary number. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) would be there, robinson and mitchell all about there as well. 50 caps. first two years after a world cup
  8. Sir Arthur Higgins

    Rebels 2013

very true. we will free up probably 3/4 of a million on those guys and could buy 3 quality players at 250k a pop. what, in hindsight, baffles me is why in the world we brought in mcqueen to coach if he was only going to coach for a year.

    Rebels 2013

prefer higgers to phipps. phipps was terrible today. bad decisions, bad kicks, bad passes, bad hands. should start giving zacker more games. we need to do a fair bit of recruiting for next year as it is and playing as we are won't be much of a drawcard. bring is link or vern cotter or...

I think if you hit 75 caps (arbitrarily picked) you should be eligible for a stint overseas on the basis that it's within the first two years after a world cup so that the player can come back for two seasons pre-WC. when a lions tour is on, i think and it has been proven, that the lions will be...

AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is a fantastic player and i never understand the hating of him.

    Rebels 2013

ya. good on vuna. the picture is beginning to be painted of KB (Kurtley Beale) being a real problem. i don't think the ARU should tear up his contract, but he needs to be sorted out via therapy etc and then probably slotted back into the NSW org to get some guidance closer to family and friends who care about...

    Cheetahs vs Rebels RD 7

It wasn't all bad. there were some good moments, but agree - mental lapses cost us. had higgers made a better pass to woodward he was over the line and the game was 17-14 if not 17-16. entirely different story for the last 20 minutes. delve was horrible and should've been yanked a bit earlier...

as in for when the tahs play in melbourne on a friday night? fair enough, but that is one game - all but 1 is on a friday night. a lot of the NZ teams and the reds attract familes and they would pull in more if on a saturday.
  15. Sir Arthur Higgins

    Rebels 2013

agree. i personally don't mind them as i am sub 30, no kids and generally can get off work with ample time to spare on friday. but - you're right. it's a major deterrent to those that don't work in the cbd and or have kids. i'd imagine a game with even a 5pm kick off on a saturday would be a...

    Cheetahs vs Rebels RD 7

agree. his best position is either 15 or wing.

jacuzzi 'incident' - ridiculous. that was a picture of a bunch of friends partying. they all made themselves look a little knobby but to suggest sponsors are pulling out cause a few friends had beers in a jacuzzi is absurd. sponsors don't pull out of clubs when players get smashed on mad monday...

Neville has been absolutely hopeless this year.

    Rebels 2013

i agree. i always said we should've chased one of JOC (James O'Connor) and Beale. both were unnecessary. the cost of Higgers, JOC (James O'Connor) and Beale is too much and isn't going to reward us as we have a lower average salary to disburse amongst the rest of the team. leaves us with 3-5 sweet players and then a step down...
