    John I Dent Cup 2014

As much as a rival that easts is for us, i couldn't help but feel sorry for them on the weekend when they played us. Their players must be given credit for showing up every week, the ones that do, as they forfeited 4th grade and 3rd grade. They def have some talented players there that wouldn't...

Yeah I guess so, hasn't been a problem yet though, I think Cree has as many of the skills as Butler to be a 7.

    John I Dent Cup 2014

Laurie replied to a tweet of mine saying that Cree isn't a 7, I guess that it right but neither is Butler and they have made him one. And since when do teams carry a specialist 7 on the bench anyway?

What does everyone think about the Brumbies bringing in McVerry as backrow replacement, a 33 year old out of the Japan comp, Laurie keeps talking about looking at the local comp for talent and promoting its best players, yet doesn't give Cree a crack despite dominating the John I Dent for the...

    John I Dent Cup 2014

Was a top game in first grade between QBN and Vikings on Thursday night, as mentioned before I would of liked for our boys to have another 5 minutes at them. I don't know if we are vastly improved this year, just continuing on from some of the strong form we showed towards the end of last...

Good to see Vikings bringing some of their own juniors through which they haven't been very good at in the past despite always having strong colts teams, I think Brad Harris is doing well with this and surprise, surprise they are still a top team using their own players.

In my opinion Marco isn't a big loss. The twins are very good, but I think they want blokes in the academy who are ready to play for the Brumbies, being South African they couldn't be called up to the main squad just yet as their international roster is full.

I know our first grade coach was talking to a second rower, but my understanding was that it was the bloke from Wagga that ended up going to Royals. I don't know anything about a QLD bloke, I'll sus it out!

Marco Kotze the second rower that was playing for us is moving on, HP and Altus Momsen are back on board for next season.

    John I Dent Cup 2014

I know it is early to call, but I would have Royals as favourites for next season, haven't heard of them losing anyone and they have been able to recruit another couple of top quality players, would be a massive benefit for them to have Russell Ingram as coach with his inside knowledge at...

Totally agree with you here, we are both giving our opinions and are proud of our clubs. Happy to discuss other matters on here but that is the topic at the moment! If we weren't contributing not many would be!

Could argue all day about what players could/should be in first grade. Smith was lucky to be in 3's because he rarely trained, spears was injured most of the year and Tarrant had games in first grade this year but he will even admit he prob needed more time in 2's to develop. He actually got...

Fair point and this might be the case for some people, but most players at Queanbeyan would rather play 3rd grade for us than higher grades elsewhere simply because they love playing for the club and being part of our culture.

    John I Dent Cup 2014

If this is the case, good on them for taking the initiative to get in there and build a relationship, it is no secret that Queanbeyan have had a good relationship with old Eddies boys which has seen many of them end up at Queanbeyan (where a large percentage of them are from). Remind me where...

    John I Dent Cup 2014

Ah sorry but u don't see how I was whinging, I have never stated that we don't recruit, we recruit 2-3 players a year maximum to try and be competitive. In saying that we are proud of the fact and it has always been a focus of ours to promote our own players and I think that can be seen...

That would be a first for Tuggeranong to promote their own colts players, I hope they do though, they had a top colts team this year and a lot of those players deserve a crack in the top grade!

    John I Dent Cup 2014

They shouldn't but I understand they will keep all of the players that they has this year provided that those players are again required to play locally.

    John I Dent Cup 2014

Is it true that they are offering cash sign on incentives to play at Easts? Should this be happening considering the financial situation Easts are in, having to borrow money from the Brumbies to stay afloat? Says a lot that they have to offer cash to get kids to go to their club, setting a...

    John I Dent Cup 2013

Well done to Vikings in the top grade, they continue to raise the standard and it is something we are continually trying to get to. Am pleased with how our other grades went on Saturday, it was reward for a good season for our club. Unfortunately colts came up against a Vikings team that were...

    John I Dent Cup 2013

Without a doubt! Certainly is a stacked team, will be all the more rewarding if we are able to beat them!
