    Shute Shield 2016

The great Campo was at Coogee on Saturday. He must have been impressed by the Wicks running rugby.

All those people (myself included) who questioned why Simon Cron won the Catchpole Medal for Coach of the Year last year now have their answer --- he should probably win it this year as well!

I reckon it's as certain as Britain voting to stay in the EU......hang on, which way did they vote?

Cheer up, Penrith next week

    Shute Shield 2016

WTF is happening at West Harbour? 261 - 61 across 4 grades today. 75 points in 1sts and 90 in 2nds, only the shorter game times kept the scores lower in 3s and 4s. Wicks were good but you can only play as well as the opposition let you and Wests were pretty bloody ordinary to put it mildly. Year...

Are Uni claiming to have produced him as well? ;)

    Shute Shield 2016

Yep, that was my point HJ -- the Super and SS finals series are on at the same time so whether the Tahs players become available to their clubs will depend on how far the Tahs go in the comp this year. If they don't make the Super playoffs then they could be available from the start of the SS...

    Shute Shield 2016

4 rounds to go, 20 points on offer and only 6 points separating the top 8 teams with only Penrith, Parramatta and Gordon not able to make the playoffs. West Harbour are a mathematical possibility (as much chance as Clive Palmer becoming PM and he's not even running), but they have beaten Uni and...

    Shute Shield 2016

Great win by the Wicks today. Came out firing on all cylinders and had 12-0 (2 tries) on the board after 10 minutes and 24-5 at HT. Predictably Uni hit back in the 2nd half with the injection of half the Tahs forward pack (why the bloody hell didn't they start the game the Uni supporters will be...

Ryan started for Uni and Tilse and Dennis came off the bench in the 2nd half. Sandell played 2nd grade I think -- named in the team anyway.

And someone needs to capture the thoughts and memories of some of the legends of club rugby such as Jeffrey Leonard Sayle. Maybe the likes of Bill Pulver needs to spend some time with these guys (I'm sure every club has one, Dave) so that we don't forget what these guys learned many years ago.

Beasties points fixed already -- do they monitor this forum?

    Shute Shield 2016

The Beasties appear to have friend in high places. They lost 2 games (in 1sts) on the weekend but, according to the NSWRU website, they jumped from 41 points to 48 points. No doubt the error will be fixed in the fullness of time.

    Shute Shield 2016

Wicks won all 4 grades today. 24 (3 tries) -20 (2 tries) in firsts, close game right to the end. Horwitz, Kellaway and Robinson apparently not allowed to play 2 games in 3 days and Carraro watching from the sidelines. Good performances from Freier (started), Anderson, Roods, Satuala and Hanigan...

    Shute Shield 2016

I complained about this last year and was hoping Jim Barry would have stumped up for some spectator seating at his vineyard by now, but alas we still had to put up with seating which looks like it was purchased cheap from some primary school. I would have thought there's enough deep pockets in...

    Shute Shield 2016

The Beasties decision to kick for touch when they'd received 2 scrum penalties in a row close to the Wicks line and Wicks had a forward in the bin was hard to understand. The TV commentators suggested the ref had awarded a penalty to Easts as he stuck his arm out but he didn't say "penalty...

    Shute Shield 2016

Looks to me like they've just decided to avoid having to play 2 games in a few days as both teams are out of the running for the playoffs. Not good if that's the case, but I guess it's understandable if they're struggling for players anyway.

    Sydney Colts - 2016

So at least the points total of 51 is correct ie 10 games won with 4 try BPs + 1 game lost (round 3) with a 4 try BP, and 1 game (round 2) lost with no BP. (Note: In my previous post I suggested the points total was wrong but it is correct)

    Sydney Colts - 2016

Wicks website shows round 2 score as 23.
  20. the coach

    Sydney Colts - 2016

Interesting......the NSWRU website shows 4 tries and 1 penalty = 23 points but the score total is 17. I went through all the games and the total "points for" adds to 434 which means only 17 points has been counted for round 2, but the Wicks 51 competition points (11 BPs) must include 1 BP for...
