    Queensland Reds 2024

He was pretty much the best Australian winger in super last year before injury. He has all the attributes to be a good 13 or 15 but he just isn’t consistent there. I’d really like to see him put on the wing and left there for an extended period. Campbell covers fullback. From a salary point of...

    Queensland Reds 2024

It was also evident how hard he was working to keep connected with his outside defender a couple of times when the Chiefs threatened to break out.

Round 3: Reds vs Chiefs, 6:45pm AEST - Saturday 9th of March @ Suncorp

We live in a world where ‘Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi’ is a celebrated chant. Cringe is what we do.

Round 4 : Rebels v Reds. Friday Night (Melbourne)

Definitely. Me too. But I don’t think it’ll be a specific focus of Kiss, whereas I assume Nella would have this game circled in his diary.

Round 3 Brumbies v Force Canberra 9 March

I can only guess it was because he wasn’t punched in the head and because the knee contact was entirely accidental and due to the fact he was dropping quickly to the ground. If the situation was reversed and a Force player was penalised for an accidental knee like that you would’ve already...

Round 4 : Rebels v Reds. Friday Night (Melbourne)

Sitting 4th & 3rd respectively one of the teams gets a chance here to consolidate a good start to the year and go 3-1 for the first 4 rounds. Makes it a pretty significant opportunity. Won’t be surprised if a couple of Reds (in particular Lynagh and Fa’agase) struggle to back up (especially...

Round 3 Brumbies v Force Canberra 9 March

I thought it was pretty clear obstruction. He runs into the defender and grabs him, albeit very briefly. Ironically the only chance I thought Force had of getting the try saved was they, even though he was obstructed I still think Swain should have been able to make the tackle. He still...

    Queensland Reds 2024

Agree that certainly looked a big part of it and there has been plenty of talk about his problems with his hammys. Last night definitely seemed the most comfortable I’ve seen him moving.

    Queensland Reds 2024

Interesting listening to the post game interview with Kiss. He was asked specifically about Vunivalu and he made the comment that they had been tracking his work off the ball specifically and were very happy with how he was going over the first 3 games. Kiss claimed Vunivalu’s game was just a...

Australian Super Rugby Team of the Week 2024

Tough team to pick this week. 3 winning Aussie teams, Tahs missed by a whisker and Force did plenty right. Some very unlucky players to miss out. Brumbies not getting a jersey. Hooper, Valetini & Lonergan all got consideration. I think my selections are warranted but I think also Brumbies...

    Super Rugby General Chat

I know it’s been a bit frustrating from an Australian fan basis with close losses by the Tahs & Reds, but gee I’ve enjoyed the standard of games so far in Super Rugby this year. Most have been competitive and whilst not at all error free the games have been mostly pretty up tempo.

Round 3: Reds vs Chiefs, 6:45pm AEST - Saturday 9th of March @ Suncorp

Great summaries Wilson & Dru. The discipline is an intersting one. One criticism I read a few times about Les Kiss was that London Irish under his coaching had poor discipline. So far so good on that count. Also, while I think it is very clear the polish and strategic nous Kiss has brought in...

Round 3: Reds vs Chiefs, 6:45pm AEST - Saturday 9th of March @ Suncorp

I mean again, it is a testament to Kiss and his staff. Given Grealy isn’t a winger, Vunivalu a waste of space, Wilson a dipshit and Lynagh can’t pass it’s astounding we were in the game at all. Coaches really having to earn their keep.

Round 3: Reds vs Chiefs, 6:45pm AEST - Saturday 9th of March @ Suncorp

Before the season a lot of us said the big question would be what Kiss and his team brought from a coaching perspective. From my observations on last nights game - - set piece is a cornerstone and it was very solid last night. Lineout has been good all year (the difference of having 2 hookers...

No - they said blood bin. If you look at his right ear you can see the blood.

    Aussie Player Exodus

Clearly trying to help the Brumbies out by weakening the opposition. Although you’d think he’d do the right thing and target a few of the kiwis and try to weaken them

    Round 3: Moana Pasifika v Rebels - Friday 8 March 2024

Yeah - I thought you could clearly see blood on the ear. Although I don’t think either the trainer or Leota realised until the ref pointed it out to them (it wasn’t much - possible just an open sore). The ref seemed to be throwing them a bone so they could get it sorted without holding up the game.

    Round 3: Waratahs v Highlanders - Friday 8 March 2024

Interesting. I saw it differently. I thought Hanigan was excellent. Gamble & Gleeson not so much excellent but I thought they got through a lot of work. Won’t be surprised if Gambles tackle count is way up there as he seemed to be getting around a lot. Gleeson probably another step down but I...
