    2011 Spring Tour

It's a pity Kiwi Robbie has decided to place all reliance on Kiwi Quade being able to be hidden at test match level in defence. Hate to say it, but perhaps Kiwi Quade's injury may actually force Robbie to choose sides based purely on form. I still reckon Matt Giteau should have been part of the...

Australian Schoolboys and National Championships 2011

For me the big differenc ein the kiwis was the 10 just did not take it to the line. The 15 who ran so well in support on Tuesday night just held back or ran outside the 13 instead. The 10 was very quiet compared to his performance on Tuesday. Best on the field in my opinion was Wessels. He...

Say It Ain't So!!! McCaw may be GONE...

Pretty ordinary quote this one in my opinion. I have long argued over the years with anyone who'll engage in the conversation that I believe Ritchie is refereed completely differently to every other player on the planet, however, he knows it, his coaches know it and he is good enough to exploit...

    Shute Shield 2011

Thanks. Very useful. Not a bad little concept I must say. I guess it would also allow for additional regional teams to join the competition too

    Shute Shield 2011

There's a Premier Grade and then also a 1st grade and lower grades set up.

    Shute Shield 2012

Spot on IS............but the clubs do get the 80K. If Easts seniors are plundering the juniors for money, then easts seniors have some serious financial management issues in my opinion. At Manly, the colts have a completely separate budget to that of the grade budget. And it is a fair bit trust...

    Shute Shield 2012

my understanding is that the aru give all sydney and brisbane clubs about 80 odd grand each to run....I would assume a lot of money came from 2003 RWC. they didnt run split comps that i can recall in the 80s though I will stand corrected here. Rumours coming out of Coogee are that the Randwick...

    Shute Shield 2011

Souths forfeited colts matches and Gordon forfeited lower grade matches as well through out the season. Maybe theyre considering this split system similar to what happens in Brisbane comps...........

harsh.............but accurate. Maybe izzywizzy is the man himself..............

    Shute Shield 2012

There was a press release to members of Gordon stating that the social club had been placed in receivership. So it is confirmed. It will have an effect on the rugby club for sure. Doesn't surprise me that Randwick can't pay their bills. They posted a half million dollar loss for the last...

    Shute Shield 2011

Do clubs get 8 home games in first 11 rounds now? As for last 5 games, wouldnt the clubs only be in the dark for a few days....sunday/monday until the draw comes out? Crowd attraction, this comment should apply to all clubs........ On the positives of the proposal, I think there will be more...

    Sydney Colts 2011

This is correct. Points cap only applied to 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, Colts 1 and Colts 2.

And I'd throw Kane Douglas, Paddy Ryan and Dean Mumm into that mix too...............

    Sydney Colts 2011

This used to be the rule back in the 80s and 90s.....once a colts eligible player had played grade, that was it, he couldn't back. I cant see the clubs supporting that again though. Even for the reason that when clubs play the perennial easybeats in colts, parra and penrith, some clubs use that...

    Shute Shield 2011

true it was their licensed club, however they are dreaming if they think it will not effect the rugby club. You only have to look at clubs like Parramatta and Warringah to see the effect of not having a licensed club has on the rugby club...........

    Shute Shield 2011

Agree. What surprised me was the introduction of Matt Dunning. Now I know that having an ex Wallaby on the bench would be too good to resist, but Barry Fa'amasili was completely dominating Talakai at scrum time...............he was all over him. So when Dunning came on, Uni swapped Tilse and...

    Shute Shield 2011

Absolutely love it............ I left after reserve grade as I had to work unfortunately. But the 2nds game was a great game and well done to Southern Districts for winning their first ever grade title.
