What rugby needs to do to get back to its roots and entertain customers.

Is this about rugby as a whole, or just rugby in Australia? I believe a lot of the changes have been made to suit the home nations audiences, so from an entertainment point of view I believe they have the game they largely want. One of the polls up there even indicated that the best result to...

Australia v England: Match III, SCG, Sat 16th July 7.55pm AEST

It's not one percenters though. One percenters are the Bogan Barrett style pickups or any single thing a standard NRL player does every other weekend. The things you've listed are just standard and should be executed 90 times out of a hundred.

Australia v England: Match III, SCG, Sat 16th July 7.55pm AEST

Disappointing outcome. I felt we had left some points out there with poor options/execution. Watching it live I can see Reece Hodge absolutely gives 110% out there - but I really am not sure it's the right 110% tbh. Quite a few options just don't seem to be right. I just don't know what to...

Australia v England: Match II @ Suncorp 7.55pm AEST, 09/07

He involved the crowd in a simple, unscripted way that everyone could understand and take part in with minimal chance of misunderstanding. Great way to unify the message until all of us learn some of our local languages. Kudos to that man.

Australia v England: Match II @ Suncorp 7.55pm AEST, 09/07

I understand what the instructions have been, but disagree with how they are being interpreted because it's premise is incorrect. The motion Perese was one used to maximise his chances of gaining posession of the ball, not deliberately knocking it on.

Australia v England: Match II @ Suncorp 7.55pm AEST, 09/07

Almost every other facet of the game promotes contest for the ball. It's crazy that the intercept interpretation is so clearly at odds. Imagine an automatic yellow card in a line out if the defending team spoil the throw but knock it on?

Kellaway is a really big loss tbh. Fantastic footballer. Intriguing game coming up - I have just no feeling for how it's going to end up on the scoreline, but I can imagine this one will probably be one of the more brutal matches between the two for quite a while.

No issues at all with a referee dropping a team down to 12 (or less) if they are just cynically cheating infringing as a form of defence. However, that particular referee had a significantly negative impact on the game in terms of his positioning - he was quite often in the way of both sides in...

Well, we played some really great rugby for 15 minutes there. And that was just enough.

Great tries. And great defence by the wallabies

Running full pace at a rolling ball hasn't been successfully picked up by any Australian rugby player in the last 15 years. Yet they still believe they can do it. And that simple act put us under pressure to lead to a try. Fucking moronic play.

Wallabies are taking some very low percentage plays in attack tbh. The rucks they are selecting to commit to when in defence seems to be off as well, allowing a lot of extra space for the English runners. Very odd behaviour. But somehow it's only 6-6

Reds players can only blame themselves for non-selection. As everyone else has said, possibly Tate could feel somewhat hard done by, but I'm not going to complain about picking an inform player from a recently winning team. I'll be really interested to see the change in the Poms performance...
