Australia A - Back on the Cards

First of all, 'woah up'? I wasn't ranting. Second, we did just play Fiji and Samoa but neither of them are Japan. The team that made the quarter finals of the 2019 RWC and just recently ran the now 2nd ranked French very close. As much as I enjoy PI Rugby they're not the same. Hell, the teams...

Australia A - Back on the Cards

Surely that's just speculation on his part. Poor speculation at that. Because why would Japan who have proven themselves competitive at the T1 level or at least competitive enough to warrant regular tests against them want to play Aus A? Add to that why would they having actually hosted the...

    Rugby News from unexpected places

Seems like a bit of a Hail Mary at this point. Which I understand as I actually think they've been hard done by here. Yes, they played an ineligible player but 1) the game he played in was never going to have any relevance to the end result. The Dutch were a guaranteed 5 points for every team...

    Rugby News from unexpected places

Apparently Taiwan will be launching a 6-7 team semi-pro league with contracted foreigners this September. Read about this earlier in the year but paid little attention but it seems like it might happen. There's also suggestion of something similar in both Pakistan and Thailand

What rugby needs to do to get back to its roots and entertain customers.

Potentially yes. There's a lot of gamesmanship at scrum time in the professional game that is directly impacted the flow of the game that needs to be mitigated as much as possible.

    Rugby News from unexpected places

It's going to an interesting repecharge toyrnament in November. The USA failed to qualify by literally 1 point and will be hurting. They should handle both Kenya and Hong Kong. The big game will be against Portugal who were very competitive against Georgia overnight who beat Italy. The same...

What rugby needs to do to get back to its roots and entertain customers.

Shot clocks - no more than 30 seconds to form a scrum. No more than 60 for it have have been set and the ball fed in. For lineouts. 30s from time the ball goes out to the ball is thrown in if out of bounds. So no penalty kicks. For penalty 30s from the time the mark is set. Immediate use...

What rugby needs to do to get back to its roots and entertain customers.

I'm at the point where I'm more inclined to watch T2 games than T1 Tests as there tends to be a good deal less of the current BS. Which makes for a more enjoyable experience.

    Tonga v A: 16th July 10:00am

He has controlled both games well and in general made the correct decisions when needed. Not overlaying his hand. But there have been moments in both games. Just small ones but still. Timidness around contact that you can just catch. Like the high ball today. He should have caught that, called...

Congratulations Samoa. Well deserved PNC (Pacific Nations Cup) Champions.

    Tonga v A: 16th July 10:00am

Their composure in this tournament has been the most impressive thing about their performances. In particular, both last week and early in this game they were under the pump but have kept their composure and have worked their way back into the game and taken the lead. If they win this game they...

    Shute Shield 2022

So, Wests bolted to a 19 nil lead. Then Randwick fought back to square up then take the lead 26-19. Only for West to surge back and lead at the half 34-26.

Make that 7 in under 30.

    Shute Shield 2022

Bit of a crazy first 27 minutes in the Wicks/Wests game. 6 tries.

    Tonga v A: 16th July 10:00am

Well then in that case that makes the error worse as he failed to get the ball in place for the binder on two occasions.
