So, Wests bolted to a 19 nil lead. Then Randwick fought back to square up then take the lead 26-19. Only for West to surge back and lead at the half 34-26.

Another win for the Pirates. This time at Coogee.

Bonus Points are going to decide finals berths at this rate. Few post Super Rugby inclusions proving huge for some and exposing others.

Anyone care to chance their arm at predicting the Top 8 in order at the end of Round 18, what a close competition we have this year, with any team able to win on their day.

Absolutely not.

West Harbour may have left it a bit late for their run but who knows.

Uni & Norths would be my only locks. What an effort on the BPs by Norths!

Can the Aus A tour finishing up help any clubs in particular? Eastwood get Edmed...

Hunter v Randwick and Easts v Hunter over the next 2 weeks will probably be the key games. My gut feeling is that this is the Top 8 as I believe Easts need to beat Hunter and one of Gordon or Norths.

If you assume the Top 3 are in, then the other key teams have the following run in:

Gordon - Easts (A), Manly (H), Hunter (H)
Eastwood - Uni (H), Randwick (A), Two Blues (A)
Hunter - Randwick (H), Easts (A), Gordon (A)
Warringah - Manly (A), Souths (H), Wests (A)
Randwick - Hunter (A), Eastwood (H), Souths (H)
Easts - Gordon (H), Hunter (H), Norths (A)
Two Blues - Wests (A), Norths (A), Eastwood (H)

Gordon - Hard run home will want 2/3 min
Eastwood - Should want 2/3 wins
Hunter - Can win 2/3 potentially
Warringah - 2/3 minimum but could go 3/3
Randwick - Need to win them all
Easts - Hardest run home. Have a feeling they will be relying on others
Two Blues - Can't see it happening.

Gordon - are really coming into form and with Macgregor,Abel,Harry Goddard joining and Jordan Goddard and Jack Margin returning from injury could quite possibly sneak into 3rd
Eastwood - Something needs to click there, they have the talent just need to put it together as a team
Hunter - very strong rolling maul (Phil Bradford leading try scorer) they are coming good at the right part of the year, Timani is a real bonus
Rats - Missing the Woolett,Marr,Girdler influences and dont appear to be getting any new players from Super, may scrape into the 8
Wicks - Will need to win each game , the loss last week could really hurt their chances
Easts - Will struggle with an in form Gordon, could come down to the last game of the season against Norths. Have some quality players and may get a couple back from Super rugby
Two Blues - will really miss Curtis in the last few games, a great season to date and should be very proud of what they have achieved.

Having such a strong and close Shute Shield competition helps the Waratahs immensely and qudos to DC for spreading the talent and allowing players not in the match 23 to go back to their clubs.
This is the closest competition in years and it is fantastic to see Two Blues and West Harbour competing and beating the traditional top teams.

Two Blues doing well against West Harbour!

How long has Jack Debreczini been back in the Shute Shield for West Harbour?
