    Shute Shield 2020

Top story in the SMH... Beasties in a spot. https://www.smh.com.au/national/nsw/are-we-all-in-this-together-police-investigate-as-photos-of-packed-out-trial-rugby-game-emerge-20200712-p55bcv.html Looked like there were a few to watch Manly / Souths as well - looks like (correctly) a lot of...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I think the point that a lot of people miss is that no countries apart from NZ have the depth to fill 5 super rugby quality sides. Take the foreigners out of France and England and you're not left with a huge amount of locals. I actually think more foreign players is a great idea - no more than...

Do I hear Newport's early optimism numbers-wise are unfounded?

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Great news - Though I would love to know who pays who here. Didn't RA buy the rights to presumably sell them on? So do I assume that Channel 7 is therefore paying for them?

    Aussie Player Exodus

Good on young Jo I say - I hear that he is a talent and any kid playing in a GPS school first grade at 14 has to be a freak. The thing tho that gets me is this..... Wasnt the NRL on its knees one week into the pandemic? V'Landys immediately had his hand out to the gubberment and the clubs were...

    Waratahs 2021

I must say I am nervous about the Tahs performance in 2020. We may well be into year 6 of our 3 year rebuilding phase.

    Australian Rugby / RA

Very sad times. I often wonder how I would respond if 6 months ago I was allowed 1 hour to read the future press on march 31, 2020. Not sure I'd get off the floor. What we are going through now is simply off the chart but we will get through it and support the game in numbers when it returns.

    Australian Rugby / RA

never ever feel sorry for someone on 40 grand a week who willingly signed up for the role. Like ScoMo and his exhausted face on the TV - you signed up for this - now lead us....

    Australian Rugby / RA

Watching the NRL squirm and squeal with their current predicament means ( i dearly hope) they'll stop trawling and offering ridiculous amounts of money to NZ and Australian teenage rugby players to make up for their lack of depth. hopefully they'll leave us alone while they fight over their...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

My $0.02 Are sponsors going to keep tipping money in? unlikely. Broadcasters certainly aren't. Crowds - nup Can't survive on jersey sales..... The only chance of survival as I see it, is if they get a govt and WorldRugby bailout. World Rugby will need to be in a position to to do this as we...

    NSW AAGPS 2020

sorry - depth Counting a trial win as the CAS whipping boys shows how far the mighty have fallen. Saying that though, Shore's lower grades look pretty strong in all age groups.

    Brumbies 2020

yeah I get the massive shits when the Wallabies pinch decent coaches at Super Level. Cheika was horrid at Wallabies level but had the Tahs in a great spot when he was there - then he went to Wallables. Link Mackenzie another example...
