    Qld Premier Rugby 2012

Was for a tip tackle and was justified. Obviously changed the whole game and there was only ever going to be one winner after that but Uni went to another level from anything they've showed this year. Brothers fell in a heap, which is not surprising given how early the card came out...

Better to start something than do nothing - good on them and I hope the concept gets up.

    Wallabies Can Fightback

Here's the summary and conclusion of my Fightback series including some updates on the Wallabies scrum and lineout following our interview with Andrew Blades on Podslam 77 this week. http://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/wallabies-we-can-fightback/

    PODSLAM 77: What's In A Number? w/ Andrew Blades

Blades told us the tactic was primarily to cover the offloading capability. It was used in both matches - 5 times in the first match and 1 in the second match. Tony McGahn also said immediately after the Welsh series that it was a tactic they would be considering so wasn't just for Cooper.

    Wallabies Fightback - Part 6

Getting tired now - you'll notice length of articles has declined (which probably makes for an easier read anyway). Going to post a summary tomorrow with some updates regarding scrums and lineouts after our interview with Andrew Blades the other day - then I'll have a rest!

    Wallabies Fightback - Part 4

Mark - I'm with you on that kick. Watching the game live I broke out in laughter at that point - I just couldn't believe how bad it was. I can't see any possible explanation of how he thought that kick was going to produce a positive result for the Wallabies - if it rolls into touch the All...

2012 Rugby Championship Round 3 Game 1 Australia vs South Africa - 8 Sep

I can't see Taps coming straight into the starting side - Barnes will probably start but Taps on the bench is a possibility. Good point about AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) at the back because it will be raining high balls.

2012 Rugby Championship Round 3 Game 1 Australia vs South Africa - 8 Sep

Agree, Samo at #8 is probably worth a try to give some early go forward. Hooper was really good last week and may be able to play a full game but risky not to have a backup #7 on the bench - none of the other backrowers in the 22 could even go close to filling that role if Hooper got injured...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

SA and NZ get a bigger share of the pie because they have extra content to provide the broadcaster - specifically a third tier competition. If only we had such a competition to offer the broadcaster! When's the next broadcast deal due? If we are to have more product to offer next time...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2012

It will be a good game:) Or in Robbie speak - I'm sure GPS learned some things about us in round 1 and we have had some further learnings since then. We will turn up on the day and I expect they will too.

    Wallabies Fightback - Part 1

It's time for a fightback - Robbie Deans has conceded the Wallabies can't be number one in the world and I don't think that is the case - read the article at http://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/wallabies-its-time-for-a-fightback/

    Collapsed Mauls

According to the referees, not legal - as soon as it goes down if the ball is not free, it's a scrum. Also note from the clarification that no player is obliged to roll away if the ball stays up off the ground so if you land on top of the ball carrier and they can't make the ball available...

    Collapsed Mauls

The laws of rugby are often confusing so the IRB has a process where a national union (e.g. ARU) can seek a clarification. Once issued the law is to be interpreted in accordance with the clarification, not someone else's reading of the law - so the clarification overrides any perceived conflict...
