Round 2 - Force vs Reds, NIB Stadium, 2nd March @ 6:30pm (AWST)

Heat & high humidity shouldn't worry the Reds too much, after the weather Brisbane has had for the start of this year. They have trained through very trying conditions which can only benefit them tonight.

Naisarani was very good for Brisbane City in the NRC competition wasn't he. The Force thought so too.

Round 2 - Force vs Reds, NIB Stadium, 2nd March @ 6:30pm (AWST)

Justin Bieber has altered the Super 18 schedule, in that he is having a concert at NIB stadium on monday night, requiring the game to be moved forward two days to this coming Thursday night. That has really put the cat amongst the pidgeons, with the Force only having 5 days preparation between...

Round 2 - Force vs Reds, NIB Stadium, 2nd March @ 6:30pm (AWST)

I understand where you're coming from. Aside from the Reds, the next team I support this year is the Force. It wouldn't surprise me if many other Australian rugby followers will have the Force as their No2 team.

Love to see enthusiasm coated in a question.

Anyone know the background on Vanzati, I've not heard of him before?

Round 1 - Reds vs Sharks, Suncorp Stadium, Friday 24th February @ 8:00pm AEDT (7:00pm AEST)

Hmmm, 3 of the betting agencies have similar odds of around $1.63/$2.25 in favour of the Reds. After the Red's woeful performance in recent years, that must see a lot of calculating by the bookies for the first game of the season. So go the Reds by 9+ point margin. The Sharks are heading our way...

    Reds 2017

Don't stand up. I'm back now that we're no longer talking about the colour of the jerseys. My pick for the starting side against the Sharks is: 1. James Slipper (C) 2. Stephen Moore 3. Sam Talakai 4. Rob Simmons 5. Kane Douglas 6. Hendrik Tui 7. George Smith 8. Scott Higginbotham 9. Nick Frisby...

    Reds 2017

I remember in 2014, at the start of the Super 15 season, the Crusaders had all their gun AB players back. And it was those players who didn't perform at the beginning of the season. Sure, as the season progressed, they improved their performance, but talk about a coach's worst nightmare to start...

    Reds 2017

The one concern I have with the player base is in regard to the senior players. Such as Moore, Slipper, Simmons, George Smith, Higginbotham and yes, even Cooper, is that its going to be hard for them to maintain the passion to win. That their mind set will be, "ho hum, just one more Super 18...

I also think Link had some very good coaching support staff who have moved on.

Any one know what Beau Robinson is doing these days?

England v Australia, Saturday 3 December

Well there is one thing I can tell you FP, and that is the English halves added a hell of a lot more versatility to their game than the Wallabies halves. In fact if Phipps & Foley perform like they did last night in next year's Super competition, then there is not much hope for the Waratahs next...

England v Australia, Saturday 3 December

Sorry, but I don't buy refereeing decisions as the major ingredient for this comprehensive loss. I blame the Clown's (yes I'm tagging Cheika with the new nick name as it seems to fit) inability to change his game plan, which Eddie saw a mile off and had no trouble counter playing. Every game...

    Reds 2017

Absolutely. The supporters need to remain tribal, but for the players this is their career opportunity to hit the big time. They shouldn't & won't stay 3rd or 4th in the queue when opportunities arrise elsewhere. The emphasis should be on the selection staff to determine who their future stars...

Ireland v Australia, Saturday 26 November

I think Ireland will be pulling out all the stops for this game, in spite of their injuries. They want to give something to their fans, and what better way than a scalp of the second best team from the southern hemisphere. This game will also indicate if the Wallabies have improved under Cheika...

    Reds 2017

We've now moved on from the 'gear' discussion at the nadir of the Reds year, to the skills and S & C debate. I can feel a rugby season coming on. Just the first whiffs of it. When we get to injuries at training, we'll know its just around the corner. SIGH:(

France v Australia, Saturday 19 November

The one thing that excites me about this team is that they will all have something to prove. I'll bet that Cheika has told them that if any of them play the house down, they will be on the field against Ireland. They have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Even Poey playing at his preferred...
