Just received this too, have to say I am quite impressed with the decision to tell members slighly in advance of media.

Strongly disagree sorry TH. Punching your captain is in my view of the world utterly unacceptable save perhaps if you were returning the favour, which I do not for a minute think is what happened. The irony is that I am seeing a lot of Tahs fans find excuses and bugger all Rebels fans...

No, but I think it might have happened in a sporting one recently Scott!

Or given a new contract with a penalty thats 10% of your elite rugby wages.

    Rebels 2013

Sadly many careers will be hurt by this unless the Rebels can somehow convert it into a catalyst. The thing that concerns me most is the spoilt brat sense of entitlement that has, it would seem, grown in Australian pro rugby youth. It would seem us Gen Xers of the world have completely been...

    Sharks v Rebels RD 6 2013

Not sure what hurts more the embarrassing rolling maul defence or the turnovers. Inman has been ok. Phipps awful, but to be fair it's a tough day, the forwards are getting a lesson. Consolations; lineouts good again, scrums not too bad, Vuna has shown some good touches.

    Sharks v Rebels RD 6 2013

DD, If the Rebels are to win, it will be by playing their usual fast game, spinning it wide wherever opportunities present. Look to our forwards to be dynamic, freeing up the halves. If the Sharks bog them down it's over. Nothing unusual there really, most teams in the comp try to win that...

    Sharks v Rebels RD 6 2013

That's very true Lee, but my riposte is the Rebels game against the Stormers last year. No Cipriani, no o'Connor, no Beale, played excellent rugby for 80 mins, came within a bees dick of winning, and had scored three tries to top of the table Stormers' two. I said it to PB before that game...

Waratahs Blues Sunday 24th March, SFS

The insight of the jaded cynic. And as a fellow jaded cynic, one of the reasons I like to keep my hands in on the stats. But having said that I do think TC will struggle, simply because the Aussie punter wants moments of excellence, especially from our centres. And moments of excellence are...

    Wallabies Watch

Hard to go past Luke Jones workrate if you are looking for a versatile lock/6. Not the showpony type, but has a very large motor, game in game out, and for me thats a crucial asset for the role. Can't speak to his scrummaging power but the Rebels scrum has been a lot better this year, and...

    Wallabies Watch

Barnes may be predictable, but he is a player everyone knows will play well under test pressure, bar perhaps his kicking options, and Cooper doesn't exactly have a glowing record there himself. Lilo isn't playing at 10, telling as i'd have expected Deans to have been pushing that agenda...

    Wallabies Watch

JOC (James O'Connor) gets put into different slots because he is that good. He is on a par with Jane and is one of a select few players in the world capable of utterly bamboozling any defense in front of him. To not play him for 80 would be crazy in the Wallabies and imo dicey in the ABs. Our problem is that...

    Lions Tour 2013

I've been a Cooper fan, or was till his implosion last year, but WHAT performance are these performances he had in 2011? I thought his 2011 test performances ranged from adequate to diabolical. Super rugby, sure he played great, but test rugby? I see signs of improvement, but in my opinion...

    Rebels 2013

I think the answer to the Rebels fitness and missed tackles question is largely down to one fact - the Brumbies made the Rebels tackle, tackle, and tackle some more. Almost 160 tackles made, with the Brumbies at barely over half that. And the Brumbies had a similar missed tackle ratio. Add...

    Reds v Waratahs, rd2 SR2013

It will be a riveting game. Is Cheika really a wunderkind coach or just more preseason nsw hype? How will Folau go? Foley? Can Schatz step up? Tilse? How will CFS go? Mitchell? Gill/Hooper? Will Simmons explode? Taps vs TC. Lucas v McKibbin? And the burning question all Wallabies fans...

    Rugby TV Shows

I thought the standing thing was absurd, Cannon's pie in the face segment asinine, and Kafe the weatherman awful.

    Rebels 2013

The biggest surprise for me last year was Luke Jones, who particularly impressed during the home game vs Tahs. His ability to inject himself effectively into a large amount of play really stood out for me, very much in a way I would like our locks to play at Wallabies level. Unfortunately...

    RBS 6 Nations 2013

I think AC's point was that the english did actually play well and it was a case of credit where credits due notwithstanding a long test schedule and the nasty virus taking the edge off the ABs. England's problem seems to be they occasionally pull out a great game, then withdrew into kludge...
