NRC Rnd 1: Melbourne Rising v Canberra Vikings

Jeez what a demolition job. Kaihea - what a prospect, lets see if he does that week after week. Simeon - looks like a great prospect. Loving Swain, would've been the perfect row partner for Arnold. Sigh... Valetini is just next level to everyone else - loved him picking his opposite...

    Replays anywhere?

    Reds 2020

Yeah couldn't remember all the backrowers, which can only be a good thing. Backline looks spicy, and a rock solid tight five. Good signs.

    So... 1. 2. Mafi 3. Thor 4. Rodda 5. LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto)/Hockings 6. LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto)/Wilson 7. McReight? 8. Wilson? 9. Sorovi/McDermott 10. Stewart (he's too slow for 15 and with Beiber at 12 there's plenty of quality there) 11. Daugunu 12. Beiber 13. Petaia 14. Speight 15. Lucas ? That's some serious quality if...

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

And beat The Lions, without the only 3-4 Wallabies we had in the squad. JW for HC/organisational structure Dictator - Don't parrot old shit about boring rugby - if we win the Bledisloe back by driving the NZ pack back over their own tryline or penalty try, you'll all lose your shit. I'll take...

Mate who cares. We all want a good balanced squad picked on form/quality and Banks aside we've pretty much got it. Even the starting 15 is pretty much spot on with only 1-2 positions being debated about. The extra selectors are a legit good move by RA.

    Brumbies 2020

Good options coming through, but gutted that we're losing Arnold. Fair enough to Carter, good innings but Arnold was just hitting his peak. If only he stuck around for another 2-3 years. Likewise Lilo for just one more year

Our lineout with Fardy was quite good actually, hence going a long way in the last WC. WE fell to shit after that with Fardy gone and the backrow mesed up. 3 jumpers is sufficient if your 8 can also jump a bit. With Naisirani, we've got a good option, so there is less onus on the 6 to be a main...

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

Not true - we want a balanced backrow and we don't have that with LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) at 6. He's not dynamic enough and while the lineout benefits, the ruck and our cover defence suffers. There have been multiple examples of LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) getting skinned out wide or being out of position for turnover scramble defence...

So you lot have got Hockings/Blythe Rodda Wilson, Wright ASY (Angus Scott-Young) McReight in the row and backrow?

Qld provide the forwards, ACT the backs - works for me, especially with that U20 crop about to hit the scene.

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

Going a little off topic here, but.... I reckon Aus rugby is only a few years away from the golden years again. Life is all about cycles. IN sport, that translates into success or failure, and each inevitably follows the other. Success leads to stagnation, failure to action. It's taken a...

    Bledisloe II @ Eden Park

Wright, McReight and Wilson (QLD-er?) - do make sure you keep them locked down, please, along with Rodda, Blythe, Hockings and Mafi. I'm a Brumbies tragic but I do hate seeing QLD in the muck. When We're both strong, the golden jersey is strong. NSW are the diversity hires.

TBF To'omua had a great game on the weekend, and he's a far better defender than Foley

    Bledisloe II @ Eden Park

Anything other than Valetini at 6 and Pocock for Jones (or injuries) and i'm going a full Chernobyl. If Arnold is out, then: Sio Latu AAA Rodda Coleman Valetini Hooper Naisirani Slipper Fainga'a Thor LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) Pocock Valetini to start as if he chokes or is playing badly, LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) plays the rest...

Well, he's been trampling oppo packs since 2015, but was never given the gametime over Simmons/Mumm etc etc so decided to make some coin while he has some time left. Cheik didn't seem to think he was worth it.

    Bledisloe II @ Eden Park

There's 2-3 games left to go ffs - you need a settled team! We aren't the World Number 1's looking to build depth - we're just trying to win some bloody games! Look at NZ from 2004 onwards - in any given team there were only ever a few new/experimental/depth building selections, 2/3 of the...
