    Wallabies 2023

Rob Leota will most likely be holding Tom Hooper's tackling bags next season.

If he doesn't get All Black's job in 2024, it'll be either Wallabies or Scotland, given Razor already spends a heap of his time in Aus & has lots of strong connections here... you can basically pencil it in, if NZRU shaft him again. Can't imagine him going anywhere else.

    Reds 2023

https://reds.rugby/news/blake-finding-a-home-at-ballymore-20221216 Phil Blake was brought on as a defense coach & Australia had the best defense at the 2011 RWC. Bizarrely the 2011 end of season review was followed by his non-renewal.... Deans doesn't play well with others who do the job...

Rennie has had a significant advantage (that no other Wallabies coach since the 2003 World Cup) of having a consistently strong support staff for all of his tenure. Deans: Foley (good), Graham (bad), Williams (ok), Noriega (good), Nuicifora (good), Blake (good), McGahan (good), Blades (good)...

Because of a poor environment & substandard coaching under Brad Thorn - the Reds forwards coach since he's been there. He goes to a Northampton set-up with quality environment & coaching and it's not surprising he's now achieving his potential.

Anyone who's watched Lukhan Salakaia-Loto's performances for Northampton Saints must be kidding themselves if they think he wouldn't be an improvement over Swain/Nevill. Rennie is a poor selector & most have resigned to the reality of that. No need to stay in denial.

Hamish Stewart is another one I should've mentioned earlier, he's only 24 and would be great at 10 for Wallabies, really smart & composed player, I think he could thrive at test level, he was really effective there filling in for the Reds a couple of years ago, not sure why Creighton has been...

Rennie had multiple other (arguably safer) options to fill 12/13. Paisami hasn't looked a test standard player. Some alternative options (just from Rennie's listed squads each year) for 12 or 13.. 2020: To'omua, Simone, Hodge, O'Conner, Petaia. 2021: Simone, Perese, Ikitau, Hodge, Foketi...

BPA, Uelese, Porecki could've been the 3 hookers & Wallabies avoided lineout woes.

I meant squad options to replace them, there is plenty of fullback cover (Wright, Petaia, Nwawa) leaves Banks redundant. Pietsch in squad as the last outside back, Marika, Perese, Kellaway, no room for a lightweight Campbell who's swatted away at test-level. BPA could've been selected on the...

    Wallabies 2023

McReight looks concerningly lightweight at test level, like a young Hooper - just a lot more ineffective. Gamble is bigger, offers more physicality & could quite possibly be taking Fraser's place in the squad in 2024.

    Wallabies 2023

Where is Australia compared to when he took over? Most yellow carded and penalized team this year, a massive injury list and pretty minimal player development in most positions. Yes they have played well at times but also terribly, often as well. Add to that him saying the red against NZ in a...

SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) 2023 General Chat

Scotty Robertson's results against Leon MacDonald (2019-2022): 24-22, 19-11, 25-8, 26-15, 43-25, 26-3, 24-27, 21-7, (Barbarians) 35-31. His solitary defeat highlighted in bold. An anomaly for Razor, it's fair to say.

SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) 2023 General Chat

The last Super Rugby final showed the coaching gulf between Robertson (whose suffocating game-plan annihilated the Blues) and MacDonald and Schmidt, whose Blues team appeared lost as they ran into an outfit that ruthlessly exploited the weaknesses Robertson had astutely identified. The same...

Well Todd Blackadder's win-percentage was 63% compared to Razor Robertson's 85%. Robbie Deans was 74%. And is winning 6 consecutive titles (after a significant amount of generational talent left..) not good enough for you? The Crusaders themselves have had much more talented squads win...

Obviously don't want Eddie back in a head coaching capacity because his man-management style is extremely outdated & toxic. It's same problem of generational indifference/dissociation seen with Justin Langer & Aus players, this brings me back to Matt's point of how Razor probably relates to...

Robbie Dean's media manager Wallabies (2008-2013) & All Blacks (2001-2003) Matt McIlraith, on the Roar today: I’ve known Scott for a long-time and worked with him as a player, and briefly as a coach. He’s a good guy. Scott’s ‘out there’ a bit, which some enjoy, and others struggle with, but...

I'm confused why one man gets left out of discussions, one who's built a considerably strong reputation within Irish rugby. I ask curiously as to why Australians wouldn't rather have David Nuicifora back as Director Of Rugby than Jones? He's proven capable in that role, overseeing Ireland's...
