Yes and no. Also a growing trend amongst the schools for either getting the students repeating a year when a "sportsman" commences in the older age groups or putting them through year 11 and 12 over three years. So that in their final year, the students are 18 and "hardened" athletes. One...

Disagree Usedup. I think Terrace and BSHS are the only non boarding schools. The Boarders returning to their homes (many remote) is a big factor. The GPS Assoc - just couldn't align their terms up properly this year. Cannot remember it being a factor last year. All games fit within every...

Have to agree Oldschool except for 14A's. I know there has been some good banter thrown around by how close or far NC will win. However, judging by game last weekend v BBC, the GT 14A may just make a game of it. They were up against some terrible refereeing and could have put a couple more...

How good was Max Dempsey for BBC Firsts by the way. Lead from the front and was just amazing given his size.

Yes. V good day for BBC. Managed to see some if not most of the A games from 13's up. The 13a BBC centres (Ma'afu and Coulston) are as good as people have said on this forum. Size, balance and time made it look easy. To GT credit they took it to them in the forwards but it was goodnight...

Ha, love it Spikhaza!!! However my Terrace source tells me that only the A team in this GT age group have lost a couple of games in the last 2 years while every other Terrace team in the 14's have been undefeated in GPS competition this year and last year and I think even trials in both years...

But isn't it a good thing that they are being brought into the school environment very early getting the benefit of all the structures that a school has to offer and be a part of the cohort rather than a Johnny come lately?

There were at least two if not three more who were injured at time of selection and ruled out.

Ft IGS 39 v Gt 27 Ippy forwards just too big and dynamic and ran over the top of GT.

Half time IGS 19 v GT 15. Great expansive rugby for a wet day. Lead has swapped several times. IGS last try scorer.

Matt Forsyth playing on the GT Firsts wing tomorrow. Are there any others who have turned out for two Brisbane GPS School Firsts? I am told he is playing very well.

After only three rounds out of 1st’s, 2nd’s and all teenage A teams, there are only 16 teams left undefeated. Nine of these have had the luxury of the bye round to help them remain undefeated. The undefeated teams are as follows:- 1sts:- TSS, ACGS, NC 2nds:- TSS, NC 16A’s:- TSS, NC...

Based on story in today's CM and Foxsports (see earlier post #1844 link) where it says the NRL has a ban on player managers and NRL clubs signing kids until they are 15, how are all these 14 year olds tied to professional RL clubs?

No, the rugby directors send it to the QLD GPS Portal and it is posted on Sat night and then reviewed during the week and amendments made. It was a lazy Sunday afternoon, so here are the official 2013 16B results. Note that IGS did not field a team for the whole season and BSHS did not field...

That reply now rates as the most laughable I have experienced on the forum. Mate these rugby stats are vetted by the respective schools and the site lists and acknowledge amendments. Which stats do you know are missing? Or is that claim on the same basis as your statement that GT and TSS won...

Ok, you got me curious Tooms. So I went back and checked the facts. Based on 1 point for a win or 0.5 for a draw and measuring only official round results over first four teams in each age group and excluding supplementary games the points for 2013 are as follows:- 1. NC - 116 points 2. GT -...

The only team where official points are recorded is the First XV. Anything else has no bearing on anything except maybe forum "bragging" rights. This may be just an urban myth. But to encourage participation maybe an Aggregate trophy should be kept on the basis of the first four teams in each...

Not quite a true reflection as bye rounds by some teams not taken.into account. - eg NC 14a's. However. TSS and Acgs look stronger in the older age groups but fall a long way in the younger ages. And opposite for BSHS.
