    Reds v Stormers - Super Rugby Round 9, 2012

Hooper is two years older than Gill. And see above for Lee's statement on Pocock, physically he is a freak and was ready to go when he was 17, Gill isn't built the same way.

    Reds v Stormers - Super Rugby Round 9, 2012

Lane was fine the other week but really, he's player one game of Super rugby ever and been in the Reds set-up for under a month. Lucas should get the nod at 10, Harris at 12. Morahan can stay at 15 with Davies at 11, or Toua can go to his rightful position of 15.

Brumbies vs Rebels Rnd 8 Super Rugby 2012

Barnes wasn't in the 22 against Ireland and was on the bench for the semi, so dunno where that came from. Also I think Gerrard lost his speed well before 09/10 - when he played on the EOYT against Scotland in '06 he nearly got run down by a front rower from memory.

And that doesn't even include his Brumbies highlights - 2k4 Super12 final anyone? Actually IIRC he was leading tryscorer that year too.

    Western Force 2012

Didn't watch the game but was gonna ask if Harvey was a 10 playing 15. Could be a good move to give him a shot there when (if) Shepherd comes back.

    Reds v Brumbies - Super Rugby Round 7 2012

Yeah Toua defending at 13 with his history of injuries does not fill me with confidence, but it's going to be exciting to see how he goes with ball in hand.

    Western Force 2012

Holmes was playing a fair bit of 12 at the Rats with Sheehan at 9 IIRC. He may have even come on off the bench into the midfield for the Tahs? Anyway, a good pickup for the Force and good to see another Aussie playing on home soil.

    Wallabies 2012

Has Sharpe retired from test match footy? He's been one of the best Aussie locks.

    Wallabies 2012

He also sat Bismarck on his arse when the Battleship tried to tackle him. Not many players in world rugby can do that.

    Reds v Brumbies - Super Rugby Round 7 2012

Agree on both counts. To'omua has had a rotten run of injuries the past few years and seems to have been rushed back a bit early. Poor guy was probably determined to get back to try and cement a spot before Lilo sews it up. Think the Brumbies will be more dangerous with Lilo/McCabe at 10/12...

Reds v. Force Super Rugby Round 6 2012

On the commentary last night Clarkie said something about Murphy not challenging the line and then Horan replied something along the lines as if he's been told directly just to shovel it on. Pretty weird that's the plan after Link came out directly and said Murphy was the most like Quade in...

Still no Shepherd? Force backline looking less threatening that I imagined.

Is Tapuai a kicker? Probably not if Genia was taking shots...

    Digby banned for five weeks

To be fair to the Sharks player (and I never usually side with Saffers) I think he was actually cursing himself for dropping the ball so close to the line and killing the chance to score. Seems like he wasn't even fazed by the tackle.

    Waratahs vs Sharks - RD5 2012

Apparently Pretorius will come from the bench due to a knee strain and McKibbin will start and take shots at goal due to Barnes carrying a groin strain.

    Digby banned for five weeks

You were quick to jump on the "Digby is a thug" bandwagon. Anyone that has played rugby before knows that sometimes a tackle can go wrong, and it's not usually called thuggish play. Biting, gouging and headbutting is thuggish play.

    Digby banned for five weeks

Probably this. Digby does have a bit of a history with these sort of tackles, probably because he is so short yet strong. EDIT: Beaten ^^^^
