    CAS Rugby 2014

Does anyone have a likely first XV for Waverley or even the team that played Cranbook. I also have heard they are not that strong this year (although a little surprised). I know next year or esp 2016 they will be a very decent side. Their 16As should do very well

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

What we need to focus on equally is retention of kids that are not "elite". The problem could well be a large part that people focus on the gold squads etc when there are plenty kids that just want to play RU for the fun of it but basically get forgotten

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2014

I think Toby Rudolf from Scots will be a big chance of rep honors this year. Had he been in the firsts more at the start of last year he should have been picked. He is a hell of a lot tougher and stronger than some of the more favoured schoolboy forwards out there. Including some "stars" in his...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2014

From what I have seen, Scots will easily be premiers. I just can't see the "ever promising" Riverview getting near them I do think New will struggle but they may surprise it depends on whether some unknowns step up. But I agree this years yr12 have greatly been ignored. (actually quite a bit of...

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

This really hits the nail on the head. I look at a lot of sports, especially RL and RU and many elite participants are athletes and not footballers. Too many footballers are being lost due to size. To add to this so many times the average competent kid playing football gets ignored and left...

Union or League? The pros and cons for school leavers

we can all find examples of of RU only players being good defenders and RL players being poor defenders (look at the U20s :) ). But to say that RL defense is not as good as RU defense is nothing short of comedic. Its also not comparing apples to apples as there are different intents during...

Union or League? The pros and cons for school leavers

In regards to the union v league defense. In the past RL defense rang rings around RU defense from U6s to international. The gap has narrowed with some massive improvements in RU defense both structurally and in the tackle. But esp with kids those that haven't played RL are well behind those...

Is Latrell Robinson completing yr12 this year or just left off your list ?

    Pumas v Wallabies, Rosario, 5th October 2013

been some nice looking attack. I am not sure how much the Argentinian defense has made it look good but there was some straight running and drawing and passing, something not part of a Wallaby side for years. But the Wallaby defense is nothing short of embarassing. The one on one misses and...

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

People have to face a couple of realities, most issues that arise from scholarships are caused by 2 things. A schools first XV doing well and parents like me whose kids missed out on scholarships so we have to pay lots of money. Most of the scholarships people are whinging about, esp at SCots...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2013

poor little spectator, I knew after your aggressive response to donj you would claim like a good little gen "y"er that I was simply asking a question. Pull you head in, if you REALLY want a reasonable answer ask the question with out your hands down your pants.

stop embarrassing yourself spectator. The guy made a valid point that there are kids in the "B"s and "C"s now that may well grow making them worth looking at. If you can't understand that then its no one's fault but your own.

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2013

It could lead to an interesting debate. I saw plenty of benefits of having the thirds comp, especially for Grammar and TAS teams. But I think schools like Newington suffered having the thirds away from the 2nds and 4ths.

Good luck to you GPSRow. Although I must say I am somewhat disappointed that you have not mentioned BARKING during the games. This was a def highlight of the New games especially during guest appearances in the 4ths.

    Schoolboy Rugby Violence

on another note. players in the school competitions needs to be taught whats acceptable and what isn't and appropriate punishments enforced. This should not be limited to physical aggression. While there are some nutjobs running around a lot of the physical violence stems from a build up of...

    Schoolboy Rugby Violence

Alot of the Coogee boys played Colts with Randwick this year. Their parents felt a lot more comfortable knowing they could drive safely away from the games.
