Yeah it’s a shame he just hasn’t clicked into that next gear has he. I remember seeing him at an SLC vs Ash 1st XV game a few years back and he absolutely tore it up before having to go off injured. One of those schoolboy prodigies who battle a bit at the next level.

Pretty underwhelming starting 15, but as others have said maybe it’s just backing consistency and cohesion. Our bench is strong though, it’d be nice if we can stay in the fight and then push ahead with late bench impact. Which seems to be an area where England have consistently hurt us in the past.

Dunno if that’s quite what I would go with, but I like it, and man that’s a seriously heavy duty bench.

Who would be at #7? I was pretty critical of Ekanayake last year (thought he was far too light for #6) but it sounds like he’s returning and with another year of gym work could he slot in there? Seems pretty athletic.
