You are right, but we do have experienced options elsewhere in the squad with Kellaway, Daugunu and Beale all capable in the centres. I think it does highlight that Kerevi will likely get the call up for the TRC, even if it's just as a back up.

I thought it would be an interesting exercise to 'select' a team based on number of caps. Probably not by coincidence, there are 2 neat XVs and an 8 man bench. A 'probable' 23 and a development XV if you like. Before someone has a meltdown about 'player x should be there ahead of player y'...

The inference there is that one of them is considered a 6. I’d say that is Valetini, so Cale, Wilson and Gleeson are the 8s. My inference only.

Jake is one of the correct picks. I wouldn’t have Pietsch there, and 50/50 on Gleeson.

^^^ I should point out I don't necessarily disagree with that stance. Swain should be there ahead of Blyth (WTF?), 3 Tahs is fair but they are the wrong ones (+ Bell & Porecki), Kurtley is OK as a squaddie. I don't think any of those selections will make 2/10 difference in the test series v Wales.

I like this idea as well. I assume you are suggesting to make it 20 rounds plus finals? Getting the Saffers on board could be harder but as you say it solves one of their main issues.

Which wasn't really by choice. I don't want to go into that, but players miss whole seasons through injury and then get selected. At least he was in training the whole time.
