    Reds vs Stormers, Newlands 2013

Rugby 101 , lesson 1 : win the contact, win the game. the reds plan revolves around forward runners hitting the gain line and bending it, before quick ball can be spread wide against a still retreating defensive line ( its not exactly rocket surgery). BUT our forward runners are not bending the...

    Rebels v Waratahs, rd15 SR2013

Waratahs (Wallaby) pack contained by reasonably by Rebels (except at scrumtime). Hiigginbotham outplayed Palu I think if that was a trial for the wallaby no 8 spot. Douglas was very quiet (maybe concussion not 100% - he did look crook last week. Robinson, Dennis, Kepu also not exactly standing...

    Cheetahs v Reds R14

I don't know if the obstruction was deliberate, and I don't believe the Cheetahs were tactically running into reds, maybe there is a bit of truth both ways, but when you have 30 large humans all running about, collisions are going to happen. Remember though that if the ball rolled into touch 5...

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

5 times, 4 disallowed and 2 Bounce of the ball type thingys with Digby and Morahan chasing kicks. and then there's the 7 or so times they crossed the line against the brumbies ( a great defensive effort I remember people saying) If only they gave you points for line crosses !!

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

It is going to be hard for him as a 10 to play behind a pack with no Horwill, Fainga'a, Simmons, Gill or Slipper, and without his mate Will Genia and impress. Why start preparations now if the plan is to bring in a key position player later. Surely the last 6 will be all good "back up" players...

    Cheetahs v Reds R14

Re the first disallowed try and the "obstruction" Yeah Davies probably knocked it on anyway, but how soft was that call ? There is and always has been 30 big blokes on a field and you are supposed to have the necessary peripheral vision and agility to move around in between them. The cheetahs...
