    Ireland NZ Tour 2022

Barrett will be lucky to last 20 mins without a high shot anyway, don't know why everybody is so worried about it ;)

    Force 2023

Correct, this was my rationale - and also the Reds committing so hard to their pathways as a conveyor belt.

    Force 2023

I think the Force are doing the best they can in a market where the incentive to switch AU teams is very low. For them, as well as the Rebels and Waratahs to a degree, the biggest challenge is finding Australian Super Rugby quality players overseas and convincing them to come home for what is almsot...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

    But who has that option?

    Aussie Player Exodus

Yeah that was exactly my thoughts.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Stan deal ends end of 2023? Cash-strapped Rugby Australia has entered a brave new world after announcing a broadcast deal with Nine Entertainment worth $100m over three years. The free-to-air broadcaster simultaneously unveiled a new sports streaming service, Stan Sport, which will digitally...

    Aussie Player Exodus

Is there any world we he gets considered for an overseas Wallaby spot? How long did he sign for in France - could he sign to return to AU in 2024 and play RWC?

    Wallabies 2023

I didn't say that. I just think Neville adds signifcantly more size and power in the scrum.
  9. RebelYell

    Wallabies 2023

More size and influence on scrum that anything, especially with Tupou a chance to miss. If not Neville, then Holloway as lock. I can't see a Swain/Philip combination, for example. But as I say, just my intuition.

    Wallabies 2023

More I think of it, more I'm sure Cadeyrn Neville will play against England - and probably start alongside Swain.

    Ireland NZ Tour 2022

I played AFL in Christchurch when I was at uni. There were only 3 teams so you had a bye every second week! It was played out of season for Rugby, as a way for players to keep fit. I remember Jason Woodward (former Rebel) had played as well. Those numbers seem extremely unlikely to me.

    Wallabies 2023

I'm curious on this @RugbyReg, can you elaborate? I think Rob looked right at home at Test level and it's a real shame injury interrupted his Super Rugby season. Do you simply see others going past him?

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

There's a growing sense of apathy within NZ in regards to Rugby. Their viewer numbers will have declined massively over the last decade, the key difference there is that there's a newly competiive broadcast market with Spark Sport coming in to compete with Sky. But the broadcast deal should be...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Does anybody know what the viewer numbers for Super Rugby are like in NZ?

He was FT contracted. What is thius 'training contract' nonsense

    Rebels 2023

Really well said. Thanks for taking the time to write something of so much depth. Without the NRC, I'd like to see some more key depth non-Wallabies, or future Wallabies, playing NPC in NZ. Teams like Southland seem to struggle year on year. This year is, albeit, different with Aus A but if the...

    Rebels 2023

With Shute Shield & Hospital Cup on Stan, there'd definitely be commercial gains to be had by one of those competitions allowing Rebels and/or Force to enter a team.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

They should get a few Shute Shield teams and create a brand new seocnd Sydney side out of it - that worked well last time ;)

    Rebels 2023

I remember Lopeti Timani being targetted by weekend warriors who wanted to knock his block off every time he played for Footscray. I remember hearing multiple stories of players twisting ankles in divots at suburban Victorian rugby grounds. I think we want any players not with Wallabies, Aus A...
